Can Cancer Be Prevented?

Today is Malaysia's Independence Day. Despite the chaotic political affairs in the country, I have hoisted the flag and will keep it flying until 16 September, the day Malaysia was founded. I believe history will record this challenging period (since March 2008) as the transformation of Malaysian politics which is undergoing the processes of political maturity. I believe good will triumph over evil. Long live Malaysia! I hope will I will be able to see this transformation completed in my lifetime.

As I was doing some research for a friend about oral chelation, I chance upon this web page that offers yet another alternative to fight cancer, apparently it claimed the "remedy" described that can reduce cancer by 90%. Although the formula given does not cure cancer, it does handle the problem that causes cancer. Therefore don't you think you should spent sometime reading more about this cancer preventing formula? Some of the materials written about the pharmaceutical companies and the cancer societies are not new. But you must continue reading. Another commercial propaganda? I will let you be the judge of it.

My back pain has reduced somewhat since I stopped taking the Snake Plant leaves. The preparation of the herbs really disrupts my routine and I need to control and watch over the fire, otherwise it will boil dry. I have used an alarm to keep watch of the time. So far, there has not been any real problems since taking the herbs. The body feel good and I think responding. The enema discharge has been very smelly. Stabbing pain around the back and sometimes in front of the chest for a few seconds are the most painful I have experienced so far. Despite drinking so much fluids in the day, I wake up feeling very thirsty.

Today also marks the 4th Anniversary of the passing away of The Late Ven. Dr. K Sri Dhammananda Nayaka Maha Thera (March 18, 1919 - August 31, 2006), former Chief Reverend of Malaysia and Singapore. May he attain the bliss of nibanna.

Grappling With New Routine

When I woke up early this morning, my throat was really dry and also tasted kind of bitter. The tongue has some white coating and I think this could be a sign of the body being too "cold". I think after about one month on Snake Plant leaves, my body may not be able to withstand the cooling effect. My back kind of hurts when I bend. So I will start to lay off using Snake Plant leaves for a while to allow the body to recover. Meanwhile, the new herbs are also giving me some new problems, particularly Capsule A (contains Rodent Tuber). If taken on an empty stomach, I would sort of get some gastric discomfort and subsequently, I would also get this stabbing effect between my shoulder blade area for a few seconds. The chest would feel a little compressed when the herbs are taken. But all these are good healing effects according to the book, so there is nothing to worry about.

Meanwhile, the local consultant of CA Care Subang Jaya center after consulting Dr Chris Teo has recommended I take Capsule B and the liver herbs as well to protect the liver from being getting worst. Like the pancrease, this is a very important organ and most be protected in order for the recovery to take place faster. I will be possibly taking specific blood tests periodically to check the progress of my herbs. CA Care has specific arrangements with Pathlabs and we get substantial discounts on the tests. This is far cheaper and less invasive than CT scans.

Most of my pain are now on the shoulder, between shoulder blade areas and on the lower back and buttocks. Light massages helps but it does not interfere with my daily activities. With the new herbs that I am taking, I will monitor for changes. Meanwhile, I really have a lot of fluids to consume, not less than 4.5 liters per day from juices and herbs! I am trying to arrange a new routine but I think all the herbs should be taken by lunch time so that I would not have to get up all night to go for my night urine.

Seize The Day!

I got my blood test results yesterday and although as expected, the old problems of the liver still exists the readings has improved a little bit. However, this time round I am low on iron and as such my RBC was also slightly below normal. I had expected this result because for the last two months, I noticed slightly higher traces of blood in my urine. In any case, the overall results shows an overall drop.

I have been focusing a little more on my lungs for the past few months and now I will also try and deal more with the kidney tumor. I started the CA Care therapy and so far the reactions has been quite mild. After taking Capsule A (mainly Rodent Tuber herb) I would get a little stomach upset. Overall the herbs are not difficult to drink, a little bitter (not as bitter as my Snake plant leaves) but it does take patience and time to watch over the fire as the herbs are simmered. As a result, my daily routine has been sort of disrupted as I learn about the timing required for preparing and drinking the herbs. This is because although the drinking of tea can be any time of the day, it should be consistently kept at the same time. Also, the mixing of tea to boil at the same time is not allowed. So, I split the drinking time to one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I am thinking of taking something for my liver as well and that would mean taking Capsule B and also drinking of yet another herb. Preparation time for each herb takes about 45 minutes on the average.

The body experienced a little upset when the herbs are drunk but only for a while. Otherwise everything is still normal. Ever since I reduced the Snake Plant leaves to 7 (previously 12) leaves, the pain on my lower back has reduced somewhat. This is because Snake Plant is a cooling herb and the effect is the back pain (normally more felt in older people).

Yesterday morning, I bump into an old friend during my morning walk. I have not seen her for a while now and have been trying to get in touch with her for the last one year. I am really glad to see her but she has lost weight since going on a new health diet. She looks thin but healthy. It's good that some of my friends are taking positive action to improve their health. Have you started?

Health Status @ 28 August 2010

New information are presented in italics.

Problem
Tumor mass of size of about 15cm on the right kidney and 21 and 20 nodes all over my left and right lungs respectively with one up to 3cm in size on both lungs. Possibly also spread to the liver.

Latest scan on 26 August 2010 showed slight improvement and the nodes in my lungs are now smaller. However, the kidney tumor has grown slightly bigger to 15cm.

Prognosis
Consulted four urologists (one in Singapore and three in Malaysia) and two oncologists (one in Malaysia and one in Singapore). Both oncologists suggested removal of right kidney. Singapore urologist also suggested removal of kidney. The three urologists do not recommend surgery or chemotherapy. The last urologist consulted said most of his patients died within six months of surgery while two on the expensive (RM20K per month) drug Sutent is not responding. All agree that is no cure for the moment.

My urologist said my cancer is at stage 4 and did not recommend me to take any treatment. It is also my own choice not to take conventional treatment after considering all the facts of the case.

Schedule for next scan is on 1 March 2011. Consultation with oncologist scheduled on 2 September 2010

MAIN THERAPIES
a. Modified Gerson Therapy
a1. Coffee Enema
Initially, four times a day for four weeks, every four hours apart. Currently three times a day in the morning, afternoon and evening for 15 minutes. Commence castor oil enema from 23 January 2010.

a2. Nutrition Diet
All fruits and vegetables mentioned are organic.
i. Juicing - 11 fruit and vegetables juices a day beginning around 7am and ending 7pm. 5 apple+carrot, 2 carrot and 4 green vegetable juices every hourly. Liver supplements are taken together with carrot juices. Added snake plant leaves to carrot+apple juices.
2. Diet - No oil, no sugar and no salt on all cooking. For breakfast and supper, mainly oats with some raisins, sometimes a little Manuka honey is added. For lunch and dinner, vegetables such as Siew Pak Choy, Lettuce, lady's fingers, cauliflower, broccoli and spinach are mainly steamed or boiled. K-salt is added for flavoring. A teaspoon of flaxseed oil is added when serving (but not during cooking). Mainly boiled potatoes and sometimes Somali organic brown rice is consumed. Hippocrates soup are also prepared every other day for daily consumption.
3. Supplements - K-salt, B12, niacin, lugol solution, pancreatin, pepsin and Q10.
4. Others - Rye bread, papaya, guavas, oranges and bananas are consumed at regular intervals.

b. Homeopathy Medicine
Consulting Doctor: DR AU Ramakrishnan MBBS, PhD, Chennai, India (http://www.drramakrishnan.com/)
Local Consultant: Vishuddi Lee
Treatment Started: 6 November 2009.
Consulting: Once every two months in Singapore. Next appointment 3 September 2010.
Reaction: No further reactions observed other than mouth ulcers every now and then.

c. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Clinic: CA Care, Subang Jaya Center (http://www.cacare.com/)
Main Consultant: Dr Chris Teo
Treatment Started: 27 August 2010.
Medication: Capsule A, 2 capsules 3 time daily. Lungs and kidney herbs to be taken once a day. C-tea to be taken throughout the day.
Reaction: Stomach a little uncomfortable after taking Capsule A and the herbs. Tongue showed slight white coating and leaves a bitter after taste. Increase frequency in night urine.

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
d. Oxygen Therapy
Started using a personal oxygen generator with effect from 8 March 2010 about 1 hour in the evening, 20 minutes per session. Richer oxygen does help in controlling the growth of the tumors. It also reduces fatigue.

e. Zhineng Qigong
Started practicing qigong on 11 March 2010. Attend classes five times a week from 6.30am to 8am.

Health Status
Currently weighs 68.3kgs, an increase of 0.2kg compared to last week. The pain around the back of the shoulder area are now minimal. Most of the pain are now centered around the lower back (particularly felt when getting up from bed in the morning and also after coffee enemas), buttocks and legs. The size of the lymph node on near the left collarbone is about the same. No other major problems. Developed a new mouth ulcer.

Appetite is still very good.

Verdict
Feels great, scan results are good.

A New Therapy

A friend left me a message at Facebook the other day to read the book, You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay. I could not find the book and instead managed to see the video on Youtube. This is a recommend watch. Well, some of techniques discussed are used by me when I decided to save myself after walking out of my urologist's office about two hours later when he said "there is nothing I can do for you". It is with these attitudes that I am able to do all that I am doing now and get up every morning smiling and happlily doing the therapies. There are occasional lapses but nothing that cannot be handled.

I have been reading up on some alternative therapies for quite sometime now because I realised that I will need to supplement my existing therapies. Why would I want to do this? I like the way Dr Kelly explained in his book, DIY: one answer to cancer "...He maintains that extreme measures are required when you have allowed your health to fall so low that your have left yourself vulnerable to cancer... You take so many pills because Metabolic Medicine’s Cancer Cure Program leaves nothing to chance." Likewise, I undestand the limitation of my present therapies and hence want to enhance it by not leaving anything to chance too. Despite my health condition, I am not about to jump into any therapy no matter how promising it sounds. I am those people who needs to read, understand and evaluate before I take up any therapy. I admit my understanding of homeopathy is very shallow and mainly depended on the recommendation of a personal friend. I am now reviewing this therapy as well.

Although I have said my latest scan result is good but it could have been better especially for the kidney tumor. One of the attributes to remain in positive territory is to anticipate outcomes and plan for them. In this way, no matter if the outcome is positive or negative, an action plan is there to deal with it. This is how I managed to stay ahead of things. I will be adding a new therapy with effect from today. The therapy that I have chosen is the Cancer Care Therapy formulated by Professor Dr. Chris Teo of CA Care. You can find more information about CA Care here. This therapy suits me fine because it can blend and complement Gerson Therapy. I treat taking of the herbs as supplements in between juices. As for the costs, it is reasonable as the price you would pay for in normal Chinese medical hall and falls between RM600 (US$190) to RM1,000 (US$315) per month depending on what type of cancer one has. It looks high because you have to take the herbs daily and each dose of herbs costs about RM8 (US$2.50). For commercial reasons and to prevent people from copying the formulas and call it theirs, the herbs are grinded into power form instead of their raw form. They have been helping cancer patients for more than 15 years now and have many successful stories to tell. If you want to try Traditional Chinese Medicine, you may want to consider them. Better still read Dr. Chris Teo's book, Cancer, yet they live! first to understand his therapy better.

There is no fate but what we make.

Scan Results @ 26 August 2010

The results are mixed but overall, I think it is a good result. I have made some changes in the way I report so that it is easier to compare the results.

Chest Scan

T6 Area
The nodule is now smaller, an improvement of 15% to 3.9cm x 2.8cm.

Lungs
- The lymph node at the aortic hiatus is now smaller by 26% to 2.8cm x 1.9cm.
- The left nortopulmonary node is also smaller by 64% to 3.3cm x 1.9cm.
- 20 (24) and 21 (21) metastic nodules are seen in the right and left lungs respectively. Previous number of nodules in bracket.

Overall slight improvements. As I used Tung Shin Hospital, it is not possible to do a comparison for some areas due to different scanning methods used by Assunta Hospital. It should be noted that any nodule exceeding 1cm, according to my doctor is not good. This is the area that will get me killed if the nodules grows.

Abdomen & Pelvis Scan

Right Kidney
- Inhomogenuous tumor has enhanced by 48% to 15xm x 9.5cm x 12.5cm.
- no other new developments on other areas and appears to be clear.

It should be noted that the tumor is not a mass with fixed dimensions. Nevertheless, the increase is not a good sign. Previously the longest length was 12.5cm.

Action Plans
The results tells me that my therapies are somewhat effective. I am still happy with the results, particularly on the lungs area which is critical to my survival. I will be reviewing the homeopathy therapy after meeting my doctor on 3 September 2010. As for Gerson Therapy, I have been following as closely as possible and I think will remain as my anchor therapy. But I recognise that I have to do more to get more effective results. I will be adding a new therapy (will talk about it tomorrow) starting tomorrow, something that I have been reading for the past few months and also after getting information from a cancer survivor, JC from New Zealand.

Overall, I think I am still in a better position than when I started in September 2009 because of the improvements in the lungs area.

As a side note, one of my urologist recommended that I take the drug Sutent which if effective would achieve about the same results as above. Sutent does not cure but prevents the tumors from growing. It would probably cost me RM160K (US$50K) and a host of other side effects.

A Sad Story

Currently, I think I am undergoing another detoxifying phase after adding the Snake Plant leaves to my juicing. My coffee enema discharge has been smelly ever since, something like that when I first started the therapy. At one stage, the coffee enema discharge has become so mild and I was wondering if I have to reduce it further. Last few days, every morning after I wake up, my body aches and after breakfast and the morning juices, I would quickly perform the morning enema. After that, I would feel very good and the body pain would go away.

My qigong master is now in China to upgrade his knowledge on the subject matter and will be away for about 2 weeks. So I will not be attending class during this time but practice at home. He said he will impart new exercises to us when he comes back. Anyway during the next few days, I will also be very busy with my scan and also trip to Singapore.

Yesterday I spoke to my neighbour two doors away something I have not done for the past few years. We just usually waive at each other because most of the time when we meet, both of us will either be going out or just came back. Our hours are different. He noticed that I have lost weight and also seems not working and wondered why? So I told him about my cancer. He was surprised to see me so active and full of energy. Later he related to me his cousin's case. His cousin first wife died of cancer and later he remarried his current wife, she too now has cancer. Over the years, he spent thousands to cure his wives conventionally and he also tried other alternative methods that will give his wife a chance. The latest, he squandered RM12K (US$3.8K) to see a Taiwanese Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner in Subang Jaya. Still no results. Now the wife have to undergo a operation to insert tubes into the body. In the process, his cousin has almost bankrupted himself. I told him about Gerson Therapy that I am doing and he has not heard of it even though he runs an oranic cafe cum shop. He was impressed by looking at me and that I do not look sickly like his cousin's wife. Anyway I loan him my book, A Cancer Therapy in the hope that there is still time to save his cousin's wife.

An appeal to all of you able bodied people, please look after your health. Take action before it's too late. Besides this message, please pass the message to people that you know, effective alternative cancer cure need not be expensive. I believe the more expensive the treatment is, the more likely it is to fail. I will talk about one alternative cancer therapy (not Gerson Therapy) this Friday.

Difficult Decisions

Just came back from the clinic after doing the blood test. The results will be ready on Thursday and I updated my family doctor on the status of my condition. I have been seeing him only once every six months for my blood tests. I also need him to issue a letter of recommendation to the Radiologist at Tong Shin Hospital before the CT scan can take place. Apparently all hospitals require a letter of recommendation. I told him I feel very good and the chest is clear and should expect some positive results from this scan. My tongue which use to have a yellow coating since many months ago has cleared and now the tongue is very pinkish. The pain all over my body especially on my back and legs are subsidizing. Even sitting on my buttocks is less painful now.

I am about to complete one year of therapy. As you know, I am using the modified Gerson Therapy. Modified because I could not (a) take the tyroid and liver injections (no doctor is willing to administer under the therapy) and (b) some differences in the diet. After approximately 6-10 weeks on the Therapy, the Gerson doctor will order the start on some NON-FAT, UNSALTED, UNFLAVORED, MODIFIED milk proteins. Basically I should have started to increase my protein intake but did not because of the non availability of the products. I have maintain my diet for the same for almost one year but it's time to change as I am now in a different phase of recovery. That's why I have said I need to make some hard decisions on what to take as a substitute, which I will discuss in another post.

The information below is obtained from the Gerson Institute.

PROTEIN

After approximately 6-10 weeks on the Therapy, your doctor will order you to start on some NON-FAT, UNSALTED, UNFLAVORED, MODIFIED milk proteins. This does NOT mean LOW FAT (yogurt or cottage cheese). In Dr. Gerson's book, you will find that he ordered the patient to take buttermilk and/or "pot-cheese". We have to be very careful with these items nowadays. Buttermilk comes in two forms: "churned" and "cultured". The churned type is good and acceptable - but it is almost never available anymore. If you have a dairy farmer in your neighborhood who will churn some sour cream to make his own butter, and let you have the buttermilk - that would be great. But, otherwise, don't bother looking for it. The "Cultured" type is completely forbidden. It is usually made of left-over, unsalable milk, treated with thickening agents; flavored AND SALTED!

The next problem is "Pot Cheese". In Dr. Gerson's day, this meant non-fat, unsalted cottage cheese which he approved of. Today, this is no longer available. All cottage cheese is creamed and salted; the "Low-fat" type is usually 2% butterfat (much too much) and is also salted. Sometimes, you can obtain so-called baker's cheese, which is supposed to be used in baking and is not supposed to contain cream or salt. This is all right to use; however, it is tasteless. So you have to add non-fat, unflavored yogurt to it, whip it up with onion, garlic, chives, etc. and make it into a delicious spread. Be sure that the cheese is free of cream and salt. One patient was using a cottage cheese, made by a farmer using his own `cottage industry' recipe, which was simple hard cheese, with about 40% butterfat and salt! Of course, her tumors recurred.

Another problem is yogurt. It has to be non-fat and unflavored. Some patients are trying their best to do right, and look for raw, unpasteurized milk yogurt. BE CAREFUL. You will possibly find raw goat's milk yogurt, and think you have it made. NOT SO. Goat's milk is by nature homogenized, and it is difficult to remove the cream - so it is left full fat. We lost one patient because the care-giver was not aware of the danger of raw goat's milk yogurt.

You can also be confused by labels; one set of information on your yogurt container will be "Ingredients". Obviously, this should only include non-fat milk and cultures. The other information on your container will be "analysis of content". I have had many calls from patients saying that the yogurt contains sodium. Of course, all milk contains a certain amount of natural sodium - don't worry about it. The problem is only caused by any addition of salt, which will show in the "Ingredients".

Very rarely, a patient is lactose intolerant and cannot handle any milk products. Your doctor may advise you to take spirulina, blue-green manna, or bee pollen. This, too, can sometimes cause allergic reactions. If you are trying it, use just a few grains at first, and add a few at a time before reaching your prescribed amount. If it causes you any allergic reaction, don't use it.

Overstressing Myself

I have always wondered what caused the new lymph node on my left neck just above the collarbone. I think I found the answer in Chapter Two of Dr Kelly's book. Dr Kelly's fellow researcher, Dr. Carol A. Morrison, M.D., F.A.C.C. writes about her younger brother David's experience. David had a small lump, about the size of a pea, on the left side of his neck, just above the collarbone. His doctor in New Jersey, knowing the stress David was under with his "wife to be" told him to just calm down and get his family situation resolved and watch it and check again in six months. Carol knew from her medical training that if the lump was malignant it was only a metastasis of a tumor mass, usually found in the chest between the lungs. Dr Kelly confirmed yes, the original malignant mass had been between the lungs, but the normal body defenses (clean-up crew) had completely cleared the primary site and the lump in the neck had been encapsulated into a fibrous nodule, and to leave it alone and get David’s love life settled and reduce his stress — the same advice his New Jersey doctor had given. Intitutively, this is exactly what my wife said to me though not a medically trained person. As you know, I build up this stress just prior to my CT scan. I have told myself to relax and not expect too much and just leave the lymph node as it is. It will go away. Now that I understood, I feel so much better now.

Increasing the Snake plant leaves to 12-15 leaves not only caused the juice to be very bitter, I got intermittent pain around my back, between the shoulder blade area. I believe this are all "healing crisis" from books that I read. The only recommendation given is if very painful or if stomach cannot take it, to reduce the dosage.

I will have my blood test done tomorrow and then my CT scan on Thursday before I leave for Singapore next week to see my doctors.

Snake Plant Experiment

As you know, I have added Snake plant leaves into my carrot+apple juices everyday. This is an experiment that I carried out in early August 2010. Unlike the Rodent Tuber plant, not much has been written on the preparation and application of Snake Plant leaves as a cure for cancer. This experiment has been going on for about 3 weeks now and as you know, I did not die from it, but use this formula at your own risk. I will now detail what I did.

Week 1
Started with 3 Snake plant leaves. Juice became bitter but not a problem to drink. Observation is that the body felt better, more in control. Meanwhile, body is also in pain, not sure it this was caused by the Snake plant leaves. As I started the experiment, my energy levels were coming down. Coffee enema discharge same as before.

Week 2
Increased the number of leaves to 6, juices became more bitter but still can drink. Varied the Snake plant leaves with dried leaves version. Found that fresh leaves more bitter than dried versions, so reverted back to fresh leaves. Meanwhile body pain increased somewhat but could not draw conclusion if it was related to this new addition of leaves. Coffee enema discharge looks normal like before.

Week 3
Increased dosage to 10 leaves. Juice became even more bitter and a little difficult to drink. Body pain continued and as the week progressed, body pain started to come down a bit. Noticed absence of mouth ulcers. Noticed more blood clots in phelgm discharge for a few days. Coffee enema discharge became very smelly. Appetite increased, eating more than usual.

Week 4
Just 1 day into week 4, increased dosage to 12 leaves. Juice very bitter now but still can drink and eat a slice of fruit afterwards. Stomach also complained a little and coffee enema discharge is also very smelly. Overall body pain coming down a little but back pain around the waist increased somewhat. Energy levels improving.

Recommendation
I think the optimum is between 12 and 15 leaves. It is not good to increase your intake too much because you do not know how your body will react and as more toxins are released, your body may not be able to detoxify itself fast enough. Please note I am no herbalist, so I stand corrected.

Currently I am feeling very good, well still with some body pain. To give you an idea of how much pain I am going through, from a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most intense, I would grade my pain between 4 and 5, sometimes to 7 once in a blue moon. That's why I said I have no grounds to complain. I am celebrating life everyday.

Do I Have Cancer?

This simple answer is yes. Everyone has cancer but our normal metabolic defense system takes care of these wayward cancer cells.

I have written something about Dr. William Donald Kelley, D.D.S., M.S. before wherein he cured himself of pancreatic cancer after being told he has only two months left to live. He has written a book and published it online.

I find Dr Kelly's self examination procedure for cancer very useful and have reproduced it below for your easy reading. Please spend sometime every 12 months examining your own body and discover any anomalies before it's too late.

Dr. Kelley’s Self-Examination Procedure

You give yourself control with Dr. Kelley’s Self-Examination Procedure of one’s pancreas. If one finds one’s pancreatic malfunction in time to properly treat it, one will have to do it for one’s self. Dr. Kelley’s Self-Examination of one’s pancreas finds pancreas malfunction long before Malignant Tumor Masses form. You have the greatest to gain by self-examination.

The Self-Examination Procedure below should be the most important part of your health program. This procedure only indicates the activity of one’s pancreas — it is not a diagnostic test. It only alerts one very early to the possible formation of Malignant Tumor Masses. Thus, you can run to your physician for proper and legal diagnosis and treatment if needed. This procedure is the most sensitive and early awareness system known to date.

Dr. Kelley’s Self-Examination Procedure is nothing more than early self-detection and/or an early warning of the decrease of pancreatic production of adequate pancreatic enzymes.

When the pancreas is not working properly and fails to produce adequate amounts of enzymes the following occurs:

- The first indication of pancreatic failure is indigestion with belching and passing of excessive gas (flatulence).

- The second indication over an extended time is the dental condition called pyorrhea.

- The third indication is focusing problems of the eyes. This occurs because the muscles of the eyes are so tiny it doesn’t take much protein loss to interfere with their function; a tiny little bit of eye muscle makes a big difference. (Dr. Kelley is still able to read without glasses at the age of 73 — and he uses the same pair of glasses to drive as he used in 1963. See his story, "30-Year Victory Over Pancreatic/Liver Cancer" on page 111.)

Dr. Kelley correctly calls such conditions pancreatic failure, and within two to four years normal trophoblast cells (false placenta cells) will develop into Malignant Tumor Masses or lymph and blood dysfunction.

As stated elsewhere in his book, the disease commonly referred to as "Cancer" by the Medical Community is nothing more than the failure of one’s pancreas to produce adequate enzymes to properly digest one’s food intake and clean-up the defective, worn-out and dead cells throughout one’s body.

You can read the full Dr Kelly's book Do-it-Yourself Book one answer to cancer online here.

First detected on 11 September 2009 through CT Scan. Subsequent CT scan on 1 March 2010 showed some improvements on the larger nodes in the lungs but did not provide enough details on the smaller nodes. The primary tumor is now about 12.4cm, about the same size in October 2009. The two bigger nodes on the left and right lungs has reduced by about 1.5cm. However, a new node was detected about the size of 3.5cm x 3.7cm at the T6 area.

Prognosis
Consulted four urologists (one in Singapore and three in Malaysia) and two oncologists (one in Malaysia and one in Singapore). Both oncologists suggested removal of right kidney. b. Homeopathy Medicine
Consulting Doctor: DR AU Ramakrishnan MBBS, PhD, Chennai, India (http://www.drramakrishnan.com/)
Local Consultant: Vishuddi Lee
Treatment Started: 6 November 2009.
Consulting: Once every two months in Singapore. Next appointment 3 September 2010.
Reaction: No further reactions observed other than mouth ulcers every now and then.

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
c. Oxygen Therapy
Started using a personal oxygen generator with effect from 8 March 2010 about 1 hour in the evening, 20 minutes per session. Richer oxygen does help in controlling the growth of the tumors. It also reduces fatigue.

d. Zhineng Qigong
Started practicing qigong on 11 March 2010. Attend classes five times a week from 6.30am to 8am.

Health Status
Currently weighs 68.1kgs, a decrease of 0.1kg compared to last week. The pain around the back area comes off and on. Pain around the neck and shoulder are still causing me some problems now and then. The size of the lymph node on near the left collarbone is about the same. No other major problems. Free of mouth and tongue ulcers for almost a week now.

Very good appetite, always looking for something to eat.

Verdict
Energy levels are improving. Very good week.

Relaxing Ahead Of Weekend

We have come to the end of the week again. Nothing much has changed. Both my legs are still in pain especially the muscles on my right leg just above the knee cap. Back pain is still lingering off and on. I will decide the next course of action when I complete the scan on 26 August. I have some action plans laid out and I just need the scan to confirm the status of my body before carrying them out. Most likely there will be a change in my therapies but Gerson Therapy (GT) will still be the anchor therapy. Maybe I cannot carry out the therapy 100% as recommended, the results have varied but it is still effective. So what I am doing is just adding a new complementary therapy and I have found one.

I have read the 1999 revised edition book of Dr Chris Teo Cancer, Yet They Live!. This book is very informational and contains many cases studies to support the therapy being advocated. It also contains useful information about the plant, Rodent Tuber. One Indonesian actually cured his wife of cancer by just administering the Rodent Tuber plant juice only after reading the book. This book does gives hope to those afflicted with cancer. A recommended read.

Take Good Care Of Yourself

This morning, I was again awaken by a dull pain on my back between the shoulder blade area early in the morning. The best thing for me to do is to lie flat on the bed without the pillow and the pain will ease. Before long, it's time to get up for my qigong exercise but this morning I got a break. The was a slight drizzle and so there will be no classes today. The bulk of the pain now is concentrated on my legs, from the thighs downwards. The feeling of the pain is like those you get when you jog the first time are many years of inactivity. This pain can be easily managed by lightly massaging both legs from buttocks downwards.

Other than the above, I feel great. Sometimes I get a little paranoid like what happened in the last week. I think since I started adding snake plant leaves to my juices, there has been additional reactions that I do not know about. I am on unchartered territory and hence do not know what to expect. I did search for information on this matter but very little is written. For example, I am not as energetic as before and I think this is one of the result of the work of the snake plant leaves. I did read for example, when you first drink rodent tuber juice, your energy levels will go down for a while before it return back to normal. This also happens when you drink papaya leaves juice and I think snake plant leaves has similar reactions. Nothing to worry as the main body systems seems to be running smoothly.

It is also with sadness that I read in BBC yesterday that Michael Douglas, 65 has throat cancer. He has chosen to take 8 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. He is very optimistic of his recovery. However he may lose his voice in the process. We all wish him speedy recovery.

Striving On

Although things has sort of stabilised, yesterday evening just about the time when I was about to retire to bed, there was some twitching pain which lasted about 5 seconds on the left side of my chest. After lying down for a while, the twitching repeated itself once and did not disturb me for the rest of the night. I am still avoiding sleeping on my right side as after sometime, the pressure of the body would cause a little pain around the right abdomen area.

There are still some lingering back pain around the shoulder blade area as with the pain around the neck and shoulder area. Somehow for the last two weeks, there are also pain around both my legs. These pain are not sharp and is more like the pain you get when you have flu.

Body wise, I feel good. Weight has not dropped and looks like there are some fighting inside the body. The blood clots in my phelgm has been minimal. My appetite is very good, always hungry. Basically I have no reason to complain.

Live And Let Live

To all of you who have either emailed, commented on my blog and in particular those who communicated with me via Facebook, thank you for your support. Perhaps I have been a little dramatic with my pain thriller episode. I had the opportunity to watch the documentary Asian Corridor In Heaven filmed by KBS World sometime around 2006. It consists of a total of 6 episodes and follows the daily lives of different groups of people in different regions of Tibet, all in the remote regions that borders the Yunnan and Sichuan provinces of China. This documentary offers not only the spectatular and panoramic views of the Himalayas but more importantly it tells of how much hardship people have to go through life each day just to survive another day. When I compare with what I am going through with these people, I should actually thank my lucky stars that even with cancer, I am having a better time than them. I have no grounds to complain.

So I will complain less and smile a lot more. I should be because the last time I check, I am still breathing.

It is with sadness that I learned the passing away of Koh Yuen (高原大哥), a 988 Radio drama director, DJ, voice actor and story teller. He was 46. I am a fan of radio dramas and will not try and miss any of the episodes during weekdays at 12 noon. Wherever he maybe, may he be well and happy always.

Another Day

Another day has begun and the fight continues. I am currently suffering flu like pain symptoms with some pain nibbling here and there. Of course I can live with those type of pain and after a while, I don't notice the pain even. I also took the opportunity to contact JC of New Zealand and requested more information from her. As a cancer survivor and having also used Gerson Therapy (among others) as part of her treatment, I wanted to learn from her how she did it so that I could learn what options are available. Being self guided and first timer in these kind of things, it would be good to get some guidance. Now I will wait for the outcome of the scan and then review what I can do. Meanwhile, my homeopathy doctor has reverted and he just asked me to continue to observe the developments and there is no necessity to change any prescription for the moment.

My weight has remained stable over the last few weeks. Despite the lower energy levels, I do not feel tired. The blood clots in my phelgm is much lower now and my chest is still clear. I am doing a little self message around my thighs and with my wife's help on my buttocks, I can sit much better today.

Last year I was still able to eat normally during the Ramadan month. I visited some of the Ramadan bazaars over and found that food prices have generally gone up by about 10%. Those traders that did not increase their price, you can see the serving size is now smaller. One trader actually increased the price of pulut panggang (see picture) by 100%! Sometimes I wonder why the traders only make some of those delicacies during this month. I can see about half of the crowd are non muslims. Of course I do miss the food. Well, you get punish for not taking good care of your own health.

Down But Not Out

I thought this day would not arrive but there is always a first time. I have been reporting slow progress over the past few months but today, I will report deterioration. Yes, the recent events shows that my body is deteriorating. My buttocks is getting more painful when I sit down, my hard cough now produces pain around the chest area and there is continuous pain about the back, just below the shoulder blade area. This morning when I cough, there was more blood clots, only this time it looks rather fresh. Both my thighs, especially my right thigh is in constant numbness attack and this morning when I wake up, I need some time to get the strength to stand straight. My throat is not only dry, it has started to become painful. Am I in the pain season?

Yes, all this look like bad signs. In the past I would call this a healing reaction, and perhaps it may be the violent reaction that ones get before healing but I am not so hopeful. I have been very consistent with my diet on what I take, only a few sweet fruits in the past month and the brown rice porridge was to take care of the stomach gas problems. Could all this have triggered the recent events? Or should I quote as Dr Gerson had said in his book, if you cannot follow the Gerson Therapy fully, don't do it. So I was doomed from the start? I don't think so because I did get positive reactions even the first month of the therapy (before I started homeopathy). Then as a precaution, I also did homeopathy therapy. Homeopathy does not have any diet restrictions, so even if I had taken sweet fruits and porridge, if the therapy has been working, then I should not be in the current state. So what's going on?

Honestly, I am lost. I am not sure if I am in a healing state now or deterioration state. Although I am still breathing and generally my body is behaving well, those little tell tale signs does not reflect well on my condition. I am not depressed and instead far from it because I am very charged up to stop this situation. I will know exactly in 10 days time from the results of the scan but I thought what can I do this last 10 days? I have changed my diet and added snake plant leaves to my juicing. Perhaps these are the reactions from this change of therapy? I am a firm believer of the sayings "no pain no gain" and "don't expect different results if you do the same things". Maybe I am jumping the gun and should wait for the outcome of the scan first.

Health Status @ 14 August 2010

New information are presented in italics.

Problem
Tumor mass of size of about 14cm on the right kidney and 21 and 23 over nodes all over my left and right lungs respectively with one up to 3cm in size on both lungs. Possibly also spread to the liver.

Schedule for next scan is on 26 August 2010. Consultation with oncologist scheduled for 2 September 2010

Started practicing qigong on 11 March 2010. Attend classes five times a week from 6.30am to 8am.

Health Status
Currently weighs 68.3kgs, a decrease of 0.6kg compared to last week. Last two days awoken by the dull pain around the shoulder blade area in the early morning hours. Developed flu like symptoms i.e. pain around the back area in late afternoon yesterday. As with day before, also experienced hearburn like sensation around the chest area. Developed two tongue ulcers at the tip of the tongue making it difficult to talk and eat.

No problems taking diet of potatoes, stewed/steamed vegetables and oatmeal.

Verdict
A week of pain.

Once In A While

Yesterday evening after dinner, I was feeling unwell. I also felt like vomiting. Subsequently there was this heartburn like sensation around my chest area. So after a short break, I started doing my night enema. The enema did help to reduce the symptoms and this went on for the rest of the night. Of late, I have been sneezing like crazy. As I lay in bed to sleep, I was breathing rather slowly because of my half blocked nose. The sleep was not deep as I toss and turn the whole night.

This morning at about 5am, I was awaken by a dull pain on my back, just below the shoulder blade area. Just when I thought this problem is behind me, it started to reappear. I did not sleep well last night and the symptoms that I had the night before carried on till this morning. So I was wondering if I should go for my qigong exercise or quickly boil coffee to do an early morning enema? I settle for qigong exercise but I felt like having a concussion around my chest area, so I was not able carry out my qigong exercise effectively.

I am now preparing coffee to do the morning enema. I hope after the enema I would feel better. In any case, this is just one of those days and they do come once in a while.

Taking Stock

I think my body condition deteriorated in July 2010 possibly due to some of the sweet fruits that I took (even when taken in moderation) . It started with neck and shoulder pain that lead to the discovery of a lymph node at the collarbone. I also noted my current energy levels is not up to the levels in June 2010. However, since I started taking action to correct my food intake, I think my situation is improving. The pain around my neck and shoulder area is easing a bit and the lymph node did not enlarge. Although my chest is clear, I did notice some activities inside it and I think this too has stopped. This morning I also noticed blood clots in my phelgm when I cough.

I am now experiencing some on-off pain around my back area. There are also some pain around the chest area when I really stretch meself. The pain is not as bad when compared to during the March to May 2010 period and I think I have sort of regressed about 3 months because of this development. I also need to re-access my Homeopathy treatment because if may also be somewhat effective. Bear in mind, Homeopathy therapy does not have any dietary requirements except to observe food intake in moderation.

As you know, I have added snake plant leaves to my juicing (my mother has been asking me to use it since February this year) but have delayed until now (after I have done some researching on it). I think psychologically I am back in form. I feel the body is responding positively and now concentrating to improve my condition before the next scan. There will be some hard decisions to be made after the results are known.

Rodent Tuber (Typhonium flagiliforme)

Occasionally, when I search the Net, I come accross one or two articles that I would like to share. It is my intention to create awareness on alternative treatments of cancer.

English Name: Rodent Tuber
Common name: Keladi tikus, Tu Ban Xia or Lao Shu Yu
Botanical name: Typhonium flagelliforme

Class: Liliopsida
Subclass: Aridae
Superorder: Aranae
Order: Alismatales
Family: Araceae
Genus: Typhonium

Rodent Tuber (Typhonium flagiliforme) is one such plant that offers the potential to cure cancer. According to Cancer Care in Penang and also its center in Indonesia, a number of people have benefitted from using this plant. There are a number of acticles about the plant and you can find them starting from here.

Is this plant really that good as claimed? I balance the view with some scientific evidence. The cytoxity of the plant has also been studied by Chee-Yan Choo, Kit-Lam Chan, Koichi Takeya and Hideji Itokawa. Their research paper Cytotoxic activity of Typhonium flagelliforme (Araceae) was published by Phytotherapy Research, Volume 15, Issue 3, pages 260–262, May 2001. An abstract of their study is given below.

The plant Typhonium flagelliforme (Araceae), commonly known as the ‘rodent tuber’, is often included as an essential ingredient in various herbal remedies recommended for cancer therapies in Malaysia. Various extracts prepared from either the roots, tubers, stems or leaves were tested for cytotoxic activity on murine P388 leukaemia cells using the MTT assay method. Both the chloroform (IC50 = 6.0 µg/mL) and hexane (IC50 = 15.0 µg/mL) extract from the ‘roots and tubers’ exhibited weak cytotoxic activity. The hexane extract (IC50 = 65.0 µg/mL) from the ‘stems and leaves’ exhibited weaker cytotoxic activity than the chloroform extract (IC50 = 8.0 µg/mL). Although the juice extract from the ‘roots and tubers’ is frequently consumed for cancer treatment, it exhibited poor cytotoxic activity. Further analysis using an amino acid analyser revealed that the juice extract contained a high concentration of arginine (0.874%). A high tryptophan content (0.800%) was confirmed by NMR and HPLC analysis.

I think this plant deserve a second look not just because of the testimonies but because the people behind it are not ordinary Joe (like me) but herbalist and botanist. They have also been very transparent in how to use the plant through his book Cancer, Yet They Live by Dr. Chris KH Teo (not read it yet as I have been trying to get a copy). Furthermore this plant can be complementary to other althernative therapies. This plant is found abundantly in Java, Indonesia and I am not sure if it found in Malaysia. I am checking on this and will provide an update through the comments later.

As a note, although I am on the modified Gerson Therapy (GT), of the five (5) other people who have contacted me to learn more about and subsequent wants to do the GT, only one was able to comply. Even then we (including myself) are not 100% GT followers because some supplements are just not available in Malaysia. It is my hope to provide other alternative treatments that I know of.

Day 335 And Counting

Yes 11 months has passed and as I enter into the 12th month of my therapy, I am happy on one hand to have survived for so long and yet on the other hand, my recovery has yet to be confirmed. I will still have to wait for another 15 days for my next scan to know where I stand. Expectations? Yes, some expected especially on my lungs. If that happens that will be positive news. Improvements in the lungs will buy me more time.

I am focusing my efforts on the therapy because there is nothing else to think about. Notwithstanding the new lymph node on my collarbone, so far so good. Lately I have been a bit hungry and despite eating frequently, I still feel hungry. Except for the mouth ulcers, everything seems fine.

Today is also the begining of the Ramadan month and my muslims friends will begin their month of fasting. I take this opportunity to wish them a blessed Ramadan and successfully fulfill their obligations.

Back To Normalcy

Things has pretty much come back to the normal. The pain around my shoulder is still there. At least now, I am not awoken by the pain early in the morning. I think the body has adjusted well and is under control. I feel good and has no major problems.

The usual organic shop where I buy vegetables is now closed for 3 weeks because of renovations. Apparently, a new owner has bought over and I think they want to upgrade the look and feel of the shop. This is also going to be my problem because this shop sells the best vegetablers, very fresh compared to the others. Anyway I will have to find a new source for the next three weeks until the shop reopens.

Today's post will be short as I need to spend time finding new sources of vegetables.

Moving On

Body pains around the neck and shoulder area will continue until the lymph node problem can be effectively dealth with. Currently my neck and shoulder areas are just like in my pre-cancer days, stiff and painful. So yesterday I went for a light massage, hoping the rub will give me some relief. It does during the massage but suffer some post massage pain too.

My scan later this month and my meeting with my oncologist on 2 September would give me some options what can be done. Depending on the outcome of the scan, I also have been thinking about enrolling myself in the Gerson Clinic either in Mexico or Budapest for two weeks to get some professional guidance, or should I say give myself once last chance if the scan result is not so positive. The weakening of the Euro and US$ has made the treatment slightly cheaper. If it happens, it should be in the Mid September/October time.

In a few more days, I will enter my 12 month of therapy and indeed, I should be happy for achieving this milestone. It has been a very difficult journey thus far but I have also reached a cross road. Selecting which path to take ahead is equally uncertain and difficult but I am glad to be able to move on.

Walking The Unknown Path

July 2010 is considered the begining of a new period for me because around this time, I experience pain around the shoulder and back area and subsequently discovered a lymph note on the left collarbone area. The pain around my shoulder area has improved slightly and although there is pain, I am not awaken by the pain like I had before.

Occasionally, the kidney tumor give me a tickle of pain and mostly happens during coffee enema time. I think adding of snake plant herbs to a few of some of my juices are bringing some positive changes. I feel I am in control now compared to previously. My mother revealed that over 50 years ago when she was in her 20s, she had a small lump in one of her breast and she just boil the snake plant herbs with water and drank it until it disappeared.

I do get a cough every now and then only when there is something to expell. The good news is that chest area is clear and pain free during the coughs. Beside the mouth ulcers, I think I am starting to develop sore throat and I will use the hydrogen peroxide ear cleansing method to keep it under control.

As you have seen, walking this journey is really not easy and ocassionally I do fall down hurting myself. Sometimes it is easy to get back on my feet but at other times, I require a longer period to recover. The fact that the body is laden with so many tumors all over sometimes makes me wonder if it is possible to save it. I have seen how all my six specialist doctors' reaction and even without the kidney tumor, they would say I will not survive and yet this journey has given me some hope.

Stopped taking sweet fruits (which I take moderately) such as melons, red apples, mangosteens and mangoes. No problems taking diet of potatoes, stewed/steamed vegetables and oatmeal.

Verdict
A slight drop in confidence earlier the week but recovered. Good week.

Up

I am back. Last few days, I was injured when I fell down from the confidence ladder. I sustained a few mental bruises here and there and coupled with the castor oil enema, my mood was really down. Yesterday was worst as I felt like dying. Although I did have a bowel movement earlier, the stomach kept bloating. The madness had the better of me as I quickly prepared to do the afternoon enema, raised the enema bucket much higher than recommended while franctically stirring the castor oil to make sure it mixed well with the coffee inside the bucket. A raised bucket would make the coffee and castor oil flow faster into the colon as I wanted to end the misery and get back some sembalance of sanity which I had expected at the end of the enema.

Phew, some relief came when I completed the enema as I endured 4 hours of castor oil torture. I never like doing castor oil enema not because there are lots of work and messy to clean afterwards, but because after consumption of the castor oil, my stomach would churn. I would feel very uneasy and sometimes only get relief after a bowel movement, normally 3-4 hours later.

System check. Weight has increased by 1kg since last Friday. Check on the buttocks revealed that no noticible muscle loss. I think my buttocks is a good barometer. Chest is clear and no pain around the area. Shoulder blade pain still persisting and makes sleeping a little difficult. No problems eating or drinking juices. Mouth ulcers on the mouth cleared but a new one forming towards the inner tongue. Mood is good and confidence improving. Working hard towards the next CT scan.

What Can It Be?

The pain on my back seems more regular now. However, it's still bearable and only becomes a nuisance towards early morning at around 5am. I would wake up and then reposition my back and the pain would ease. The stabbing pain from the kidney tumor continued for the whole of yesterday morning but subsided towards lunch time. I did not notice any blood in my urine. Although the chest is clear, I have been coughing a little and noticed small traces of blood clots in my phlegm but does not happen in every cough. Now, the pain around my left shoulder blade is a little more apparent when I am sitting down or standing though it is not painful enough to disturb my daily activities. It kind of reminded me of the March-May 2010 period, a painful period for me.

Although I have been examining my body for signs of lumps, I only started to examine my front neck are about 2 weeks ago when I was lying down to do coffee enema. I felt a little soreness around my neck for a while now, like in my pre-cancer days, so I started to look for any development around my neck. Perhaps it has been there all this while waiting for me to discover.

I have been reviewing the things that I ate for the last few months. My diet has been quite consistent. Anyway with that development, I need to make some changes to my food (already change lunch/dinner and stopped taking any kind of fruits that are sweet such as mangoes, mangosteens and red apples). My mother has been bugging me to add a little snake plant leaves to my juice for a few months now. I was not aware that she had that plant somewhere in the garden and I thought why not? I have taken it before and if I want some different results, then I must do things differently. I started taking it together with two of my juices since yesterday. Call it a mind fix or what, I can feel some improvements already.

Thunderstorms Ahead

This morning I was awaken by the pain around my back. For the first time of about a year, I think my kidney tumor is giving me some short throbbing pain lasting for a few seconds. As a result, I was rather tired and did not go for my qigong exercise. As I was preparing my juices, the throbbing pain became more regular. I think today is going to be a painful day. So the next thing I could do is to step up my coffee enema.

I do know know what to make of the latest development except that I may be going through another bout of painful period. I had expected this because from blogs of others, they have also been through such a period. Notwithstanding the pain, I am still smiling and going about my daily routine. I do not get depressed easily. I have been though difficult and painful times and will know how to handle this round as well. I am cheerful because I am happy to be alive, to have another day to improve my condition. My lungs are clear and I am still strong enough to go about daily activities without problems.

The neighbour behind my house is a Malay family. They employ a maid who does the cooking everyday. The problem (actually all mine) is that she make such good curries and you could smells it a few doors away. I spent 70% of my time in the kitchen and hence gets food torture everyday!

Deepening Crisis

Yesterday morning while I was doing my morning enema, as I started to feel for lumps around my neck area and to my horror, I found a lymph node the size of a marble in the pit just above the left collarbone. Perhaps this explain the pain around the neck, shoulder and back area. At about 6.45pm I experienced nose bleeding just after I took my last juice of the day. What could have cause this development? Maybe the lymph node was there all the time, only I did not discover it. My diet has been very consistent except for a period of time when I took in brown rice porridge because of the stomach gas problem and also maybe because of the sweet fruits that I took. Now I will use oats instead of brown rice and also cutting down on sweet fruits.

I was at the temple last Sunday when I met a friend who told me that I have lost my radiance which I had when we last met two weeks ago. I must admit the developments of late has jolted my confidence and yesterday I was bent on damage control. The tumors are found at a number of important organs (kidney, lungs, liver, T3 area and now neck area) in my body and the fact that I have endured and not perish means the therapy must be somewhat effective. It also means now I may have to take longer time to heal, so I will first need to control my own emotions. I am now doing a self campaign on smiling. I should have died but did not, so why shouldn't I smile? It's therapeutic too.

Curing cancer requires a rich man's pocket. One of the problems most cancer patient face is finance. No, I am not asking for donation because the hole is so deep, how much can you donate to fill it up? Yesterday I was watching the 1973 movie Sunshine by Cliff De Young on Youtube and it was based on a true story. The lady (played by Cristina Raines) who had cancer was 20 years old and has a two year old child and her husband is a struggling singer. There was an emotional scene where the couple was arguing about finances. What is the point I am trying to make? The results of the scan that I am going to do at the end of this month has serious ramifications. If the scan shows a no win no lose situation meaning the tumors are under control but not diminished, this is where the problem is. My current organic food bill is about RM4k per month and financially I am not in a position to undertake this therapy for the next 10 years to keep myself alive because by then, I have exhausted my retirement fund. I got some hard decisions to make. So please take good care of your health.

Sunday Blues

Yesterday morning started out good. At 10.15am I took two tablespoons of castor oil and drank my cup of organic coffee. Then had a slice of papaya. Within minutes, the stomach starts to churn as it would in all my castor oil enema days. I was feeling a little uncomfortable around the stomach area and after lunch, I would expect bowel movements. For the first time, that did not happen and I thought maybe the afternoon enema would help to clear things out of the stomach. It did not and the stomach discomfort continued to dinner. Meanwhile with a bloated stomach, doing subsequent juices and food intake was a little difficult. I quickly had dinner and then did my night enema. Finally, the discharge did come out and I felt a sense of relief. If that did not work, I would have to do another clear water enema to flush it out.

After enema, I lay down to rest on the bed and after a while, noted my heartbeat starts to beat irregularly. As a result, it affected my breathing and I quickly got up and sat on the bed and the heartbeat became regular back. It must have been some pressure around the chest area which becomes apparent as I lie down that must affected the heartbeat. I decided to lay down again and come to terms with the irregular heartbeat. By managing my breathing, I managed to calm the heart down and the heartbeat became more regular. I have no idea what caused it though some suggested it could be due to low calcium/magnesium balance.

During late afternoon hours while waiting for the bowel movements and while trying to cheer myself up , I chanced upon some very old 1970s movies in Youtube. It starred Chen Chen (甄珍), one of my favourate actress which I became infactuated when I was 15 years old. I used to watch most of her movies at Sentul Theatre which is just about next to my school. Those days, a movie would costs about RM0.40. Watching those old movies certaintly brought back old happy memories. That's how I learned my Mandarin.

Managing Life

The last two days, I was awaken by the shoulder area pain at about 4am - 5am in the morning. Sometimes I wonder if it is posture related because the shifting of positions does not always work. So far the only thing that always work is when I get up and the pain eases immediately.

Anyway the only thing left to do is to continue with the therapy and wait for the scan. From the Homeopathy prespective, my doctor said I am making good progress. From Gerson's prespective, it also appears good. The body feels good, weight stabilised, no problems with intake of food, chest area seems clear, breathing is normal and the only exception is the pain every now and then that disrupts my sleep. When you are doing Gerson Therapy on your own, rests is a premium because there are so many things to do in between juices and also not enough time to just lie down to take a short nap. I am lucky because I managed to withdraw a portion of funds from my Employees Provident fund (before retirement age) to do this therapy. Unfortunately I have to pace my financial resources so that I can still continue with this therapy and meet other obligations. That is why I did not consider the option of hiring help. When you have no income, any expenses you saved is your income.

My brother told me the other day, the drug Sutent for kidney cancer is now on 1 year offer i.e. the patient pays for two months (RM24K per month) supply and the drug company pays for the 10 months. No mention of 2nd year onwards and if this drug works, you have to use it for the rest of your life. While I view life as very important, I have adopted a different view of it when it comes to my own life. Long ago, I wondered if I would bankrupt myself to cure myself of terminal illness and I have decided rationally back then I will not. Now that I am in that position, my views have not changed. This is also in line with my Buddhist training and I am glad to repay my karma in the very life. I have already lived longer than my doctors expectations and in a very good quality of life, free to travel and free from side effects except for some healing reactions.
