You Are Not Alone

There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self.
Aldous Huxley

The last few days I have been running around and as a result, I was very tired. I have been resting and need more rests to prepare for my long journey to US/Mexico.

In the course of the week, I also met two cancer patients. One is a Malay gentleman in his 40s. He has a 10cm left kidney tumor and seems to have spread to the chest. The doctors have recommended surgery and I believe he is now recovering in hospital. It would be good for me to follow up on this case and see how he recovers from the surgery. He is taking the CA Care herbs. The other is a lady from Saudi Arabia, in her 30s. My neighbour has requested me to talk to her about Gerson Therapy. She has breast cancer and have spread to the lungs. Her right hand is swollen and she feels a lot of pain. She has been in Malaysia for four months now and she is all alone. Yes, one person in a far away land and she is dead against surgery and chemotherapy. Yet at the same time she has no idea what alternative therapy to take. Poor women.

Cost Of Treatment @ Gerson Clinic
Some of my friends are wondering how much will I be spending at the Gerson Clinic? Well, to me, the cost seems reasonable considering other forms of alternatives and of course conventional treatment. The clinic charges US$5,500 per week for a minumum of two week's stay. That would mean approximately RM35K for me. Well it's cheaper than Sutent or any chemotherapy. Also cheaper than some of the alternative therapies that I know of. Everything is being provided at the clinic; food, medical, doctors, accomodation and the environment for healing. It's about the same price that I would have to pay for removing my kidney tumor by surgery.

Of course there are other expenses like airfare and personal expenses. Well all in I budgeted for RM50K. It's a lot of money for me but this is also to buy a hope for myself. Gerson Clinic has very good results. My own self administered Gerson Therapy also allowed me to live for about 15 months now, much to my doctors' amazement.

I think many cancer patients have said it and I will not be the last. Cancer treatment is a very expensive especially by conventional means. Alternative therapies is cheaper but then I also know of some alternative therapies that are as expensive as conventional treatment. The more desperate the patient is, the more money he/she will spend.

It's Not That Bad

Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.
Francesca Reigler

I have been doing some thinking about my latest scan results. Not on the good news part but more on the bad news part i.e. my lungs. I still cannot understand why the results is kind of mixed. My homeopathy doctor told me this could be mainly due to the fact that my body is not able to deal with two major tumor sites in the body.

Anyway I will see what the doctors says at the Gerson Clinic. I will wait for their assessment of me and then follow their tailor made program. There one thing that I don't like about the program. I don't like injections. I hate it actually. But it seems I will need to have daily liver and thyroid injections. Needles... Oh, is there another way like taking it orally in a pill form like I do now?

My Diet While Travelling
It is obvious that while travelling I cannot take my normal Gerson diet. Even while travelling to Singapore, I modify my diet temporary. But this time, some of my friends are a little worried what will I be consuming while I am travelling in USA? Well put it this way. I will bring some organic oats and also some rye bread along. But the journey is long and I may run out of my rations by then.

So the next best thing is to go on vegetarian diet. What I will do is probably dilute it with water to remove excess oil and salt before consuming. This is the best I can do under the circumstance. Not eating is NOT an option. It's winter by the way. I will try to spend more time at the Gerson Institute where they also serve Gerson diet food. I have ordered special medical and/or vegetarian food on the plane which is low in salt content.

CA Care Herbs
I started taking CA Care herbs after the August 2010 scan. Now three months later, my kidney tumor seems to have improved but not my lungs. This is the only changes I have made so far. Could the improvement be due to the CA Care herbs? I want to think so. I think Rodent Tuber in particular helped.

Earlier I also took herbs for the liver but now the scans has confirmed that my liver is not infected, I can stop taking the liver herbs. CA Care has two herbs for lung cancer. So far I have been taking only one of the herb and I think I will now start on the other lung herb as well.

I will suspend taking the CA Care herbs while I am away in US and Mexico and will resume when I am back on 23 December 2010.

Health Status @ 27 November 2010

To get up each morning with the resolve to be happy is to set our own conditions to the events of each day. To do this is to condition circumstances instead of being conditioned by them.
Ralph Waldo Trine

New information are presented in italics.

Problem
Tumor mass of size of about 15cm on the right kidney and 21 and 20 nodes all over my left and right lungs respectively with one up to 3cm in size on both lungs. Confirmed that it has not spread to the live. All other organs are also normal.

Latest scan on 26 November 2010 showed slight improvement in the kidney tumor (shrunk from 15cm to 11.4cm) but the nodes on the lungs were also a little larger. In the August 2010 scan, it was the other way around.

X-rays scan on 26 September 2010 over the scapula (the bone of the shoulder), pelvic and upper back areas shows no obvious bony metastasis.

Prognosis
Consulted four urologists (one in Singapore and three in Malaysia) and two oncologists (one in Malaysia and one in Singapore). Both oncologists suggested removal of right kidney. Singapore urologist also suggested removal of kidney. The three urologists do not recommend surgery or chemotherapy. The last urologist consulted said most of his patients died within six months of surgery while two on the expensive (RM20K per month) drug Sutent is not responding. All agree that is no cure for the moment.

My urologist said my cancer is at stage 4 and did not recommend me to take any treatment. It is also my own choice not to take conventional treatment after considering all the facts of the case.

Subsequently during the 1 year review on 2 September 2010, my oncologist in Singapore recommended that I consider:

a. Tumor debulk and
b. Sutent medication or
c. Interferon treatment

MAIN THERAPIES
a. Modified Gerson Therapy
a1. Coffee Enema
Initially, four times a day for four weeks, every four hours apart. Currently two times a day in the morning, afternoon and evening for 15 minutes. Commence castor oil enema from 23 January 2010.

a2. Nutrition Diet
All fruits and vegetables mentioned are organic.
i. Juicing - 11 fruit and vegetables juices a day beginning around 7am and ending 7pm. 5 apple+carrot, 2 carrot and 4 green vegetable juices every hourly. Liver supplements are taken together with carrot juices. Added snake plant leaves to carrot+apple juices.
2. Diet - No oil, no sugar and no salt on all cooking. For breakfast and supper, mainly oats with some raisins, sometimes a little Manuka honey is added. For lunch and dinner, vegetables such as Siew Pak Choy, Lettuce, lady's fingers, cauliflower, broccoli and spinach are mainly steamed or boiled. K-salt is added for flavoring. A teaspoon of flaxseed oil is added when serving (but not during cooking). Mainly boiled potatoes and sometimes Somali organic brown rice is consumed. Hippocrates soup are also prepared every other day for daily consumption.
3. Supplements - K-salt, B12, niacin, lugol solution, pancreatin, pepsin and Q10.
4. Others - Rye bread, papaya, guavas, oranges and bananas are consumed at regular intervals.

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
d. Oxygen Therapy
Started using a personal oxygen generator with effect from 8 March 2010 about 1 hour in the evening, 20 minutes per session. Richer oxygen does help in controlling the growth of the tumors. It also reduces fatigue.

e. Zhineng Qigong
Started practicing qigong on 11 March 2010. Attend classes five times a week from 6.30am to 8am.

Health Status
Many of my friends who saw me said I look thinner but somehow my weight is still around 65.7kg. This week was bad for me in terms of running around. I was all over town doing the visa formalities and also other arrangements. So I did not have proper food and rests. I will try and catch up (if there is such a thing) on my rests this weekend. Before I know it, my mother in law was admitted to hospital and there I was again back in Ipoh. Ok, still got Sunday.

This week I spare you details of my pain.

Verdict
Very tiring week but looking forward to staying at Gerson Clinic.

CT Scan Showed Mixed Results

Think positively and masterfully, with confidence and faith, and life becomes more secure, more fraught with action, richer in achievement and experience.
Eddie Rickenbacker

I have been running around the last two days and this is really bad for me. I have not been drinking my juices and taking food regularly. I think I will take more rests in the weekend.

Update On US/Mexico Trip
Finally managed to get all the formalities done. I will be leaving on 3 December and be back on 23 December. December is the peak season and not a good time to travel. Everything is so expensive!

Update On CT Scan Results
As with previous scans, this scan which was taken yesterday showed mixed results. The last scan was taken three months ago in August 2010.

The good news is that the kidney tumor has shrunk a bit from 15cm x 9.5cm x 12.5cm to 11.4cm x 10.2cm x 10.6cm. The liver is also not infected. All other organs are also normal.

The bad news is the lungs. The lymphnodes below the aoratic arch measures 3cm x 1.9cm subcarnial lymphnode behind the heart measures 3.8cm. At last study it was 3.3cm x 1.8cm and 2.2cm and 2.1cm respectively. Right paravertebral lymphnode at the same level measure 2.9cm. This means that the mediastinal (a non-delineated group of structures in the thorax, surrounded by loose connective tissue) and lymphadenopathy (an enlargement of the mediastinal lymph nodes) have increased in size.

Well still, I am happy because there was good news. I think the CA Care herbs helped. I will be making a small change in the herbs. Instead of taking liver herbs, I will be taking an additional lung herb. The lungs needs more help.

The Long Walk Ahead

Real life is not always going to be perfect or go our way, but the recurring acknowledgment of what is working in our lives can help us not only survive but surmount our difficulties.
Sarah Ban Breathnach

Guys, thanks for your emails, sms and comments on my blogs about getting my US visa. Well, this is the first time I get congratulations for getting into a clinic! Yes, getting there is indeed is a major step for me. It's also my last hope so to speak because I have almost exhausted all means (well surgery is still the final option) to fight this diease. You should know even Gerson Clinic NEVER promised 100% cure. I will leave the statistics out because this is my individual fight.

Today I felt very tired both mentally and physically. I feel very weak and just want to lie down, don't want to do anything. I just want to rest.

CT Scan
Today, I went for an unscheduled CT scan. I thought it would be better to do a scan before I leave for Mexico so that the doctors can have the latest scan reports of my condition.

I had my sister booked the CT scan to be conducted at Tung Shin Hospital. Because my urologist had made a special request to take certain slices of the tumor to see if the tumor has invaded the liver. The CT scanner at Tung Shin was not able to do the job and the radiologist was kind enough to book me a 2pm afternoon appointment at Assunta Hospital. I fasted the morning so that I could take the scans. I quickly had my morning juice and followed by a bowl of oats. Before I could finish, the senior nurse told me that this will be the last meal for me until my afternoon scan! I need to fast for four hours before the 2pm scan.

I went home and took a nap. Before long, time was up and I prepared my juices and oats to take along. I arrived at the hospital just past 2pm and had to complete the formalities of registration. Later I was let to the CT scanner room and was asked to put on the hospital robes to facilitate the scanning. After changing, I felt cold, with so little cloths on. I sat on the bed while waiting for the nurse to attend to me. I was the only patient there and the wait seem to be hours of waiting. I was also very hungry.

The nurse appeared, had me lie on the bed and then attach a clip on my veins of the right hand to facilitate the contrast injection later during the scan. It was the most painful, I think the nurse (sounded Indonesian) was new. After that more waiting. At least this time I had the blanket to help keep the cold away. Finally I was directed to the scanner area. The radiographer had two other nurses attending to me and then explained the protocol to me.

As a slept on the sleeping bay and subsequently being slowly pushed inside the scanner area. The nurse then join the contrast application device to my clip on my hand and went in the control room. Again I waited. This time it seems so long and the scan must have taken at least 15 minutes to complete. That 15 minutes seems forever for me. Previously I think it was all over in 5 minutes. Sleeping under the the Somatron scanner gives me the creeps. As the contrast solution was injected into me, I could feel the warm sensation travelling from my head to toes. I was warned that the side effects could include vomitting, nausea and itchiness.

Well with 6 prior CT scanning experiences behind me, I thought I would have no problems this time. At 4+pm, I experienced itchiness around my neck and I was scratching like crazy. So I decided to leave it alone and soon the itchiness went away.

Well, I could not get the results of my report today because the nurse told me that there were just too many patients and I can only collect tomorrow. It's fine with me because this time, I don't have anymore expectations. Good or bad results does not matter anymore. I just do what I can.

Gerson Clinic, Here I Come!

You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.
Jim Rohn

I have not set up an Internet connection at my mom's place. So for this period of time, I may miss updating my blog a day or two. I am working on to resolve it.

Last few days, I have been having some adominal pain around the kidney area. While doing my morning enema, I also noticed some discomfort from my lymph node on my left collarbone. It never gave me any problems before. Hopefully it's temporary only. I think I have developed a little swelling on my left side of the neck, close to the thyroid gland. Probably it's nothing.

I make my posting short today.

US And Mexico, Here I Come!
Finally, my US Visa has been granted though only for six months validity. At least I get to go for my treatment. The reason why they would not allow me a longer visa is so I do not burden the US Government in case I fall sick and becomes disabled while in the US.

Now, I just have to confirm the travel arrangements.

Is There An Anti-Cancer Vaccine?

Courage is as often the outcome of despair as hope; in the one case we have nothing to lose, in the other, all to gain.
Diane DePoiters

Many times I find myself in more dispair than hope about my cancer situation. I think this is because my mind is conditioned after years of indoctrination about conventional medicine. To rid myself of these mind imprints takes a lot of work and reminding myself there are other ways of looking at things.

Obviously taking a different approach requires great courage because that path taken in unbeaten. I also get a lot of discouragement and yet at the same time, friends and family members are also not sure whether to give support or not. Whatever it is, it's my life and I should take whatever action deemed necessary for my own salvation. Of course, I will listen to inputs of friends and family members but obviously it is not fair to shift the decision burden to them for my own health failing.

Why Doctors Don't Get Cancer?
I stumbled upon this article posted by Derek Clontz. I am not sure if the doctors elsewhere in the world are able to access the vaccine or not. I know many Malaysian doctors are also now getting cancer.

The whistle blower was Dr Federick X, a highly respected oncologist. Dr. X refuses to reveal his identity or whereabouts fearing what he terms “lethal punishment” from an industry that depends “on large and ever-growing numbers of cancer patients entering the system just to stay in business.”

The doctor himself insists that his statements stand on their own merits. He challenges “anybody, anywhere to prove me wrong.”

He goes on to provide specifics, saying the cancer vaccine was developed simultaneously at federally-funded research centers in Los Angeles and New York in 1967.

A simple and inexpensive ”cocktail” of weakened cancer cells, the vaccine showed such promise that the FDA agreed to forego normal procedure and allow early clinical trials on humans.

Those trials reportedly involved the vaccination of over 500 medical volunteers who were later injected with live, virulent cancers of the type that attack the brain, eyes, spine, colon, kidney, pancreas, liver and lung.

In all but three instances, says Dr. X, the live cancer cells “were destroyed within days.” By early 1969, he adds, “virtually everyone involved in the trials was convinced the vaccine would eradicate cancer for all Americans within a matter of a few years and for every human on earth within a single generation.”

According to Dr. “X”, the results “horrified the cancer industry, which saw its major source of income, its power and tens of thousands of high-paying jobs and careers going down the tubes.”

Under intense and apparently threatening pressure from “major lobbyists and influence peddlers,” he continues, the FDA hastily re-classified the vaccine as unsafe for humans

But cancer researchers knew better, he alleges, and continued to order the vaccine for “experimental use” – a practice that he says continues with the FDA’s nodding but unspoken approval to this day. “That’s why the cancer statistics show that doctors seldom get the disease while ordinary people remain at high risk,” explaines Dr. X. The doctors are taking a so-called ‘experimental’ vaccine that they know to be safe and effective but won’t give to you.

Breathing Difficulties

Life is not a matter of having good cards, but of playing a poor hand well.
Robert Louis Stevenson

Yesterday my father was doing a small paint job outside the house. However, the smell of the thinner and paint fumes was enough to cause me some breathing problems. Firstly I got itchy reaction and towards later the night, I was having breathing difficulties. I normally take about an hour to finish my evening chant but yesterday night I had to stop and take a break as I was running out of breath so frequently. My lungs just could not cope. I have become very sentitive to environment pollutants.

I still have some reflux problems especially after doing my coffee enema. It also seems to affect my digestion. Of late I am not digesting well.

My physical energy is still weak. Walking up two flight of stairs is the best I could do without stopping for a break. But when I carrying loads, even of about 1-2kgs in weight, then it really becomes tiring.

Remaining Positive
Last Friday, I had a therapy session with Dr Chong at her clinic. She sense from reading my blog that I was lonely fighting this cancer. The session were mainly to reinforce the aspects of remaining positive in everything I do. In order for that to happen, not only positive thinking is important, I must be surrounded with positive people and a positive environment.

I must admit as this fight progresses, I am getting tired physically and mentally. The pain is getting a little more apparent. While remaining positive most of the time is easier said than done, I still continue to watch my mind. Since I started chanting, I think it has helped somewhat calmed my mind. I think the tipping factor is one of pain. If the pain is minimal, then it is very easy to remain in positive territory. But I have not much control over the pain? It just comes although I now know having sufficient rests will certainly help.

Of Hard Beds
I still cannot sleep on "hard" beds. I called them hard (but actually for normal people, it would have been good) because as my buttocks, ribs and back rests on the bed, I feel the pain. I need a very soft layer over the bed.

Now, when I sit or accidentally knock against a table or some hard surface, I easily get injured. The area of my legs and hands would be in pain for a few days. I am now extra careful when I am moving about.

At my oncologist's clinic when I was there the last time, they have started distributing phamplets to cancer patients. It is to advise us not to get hurt from falling (especially in the toilet) and also knocking onto hard surfaces. More so for those who have undergone radiotherapy because the bones would have become very brittle.

Mexico Trip
I will be going to the US Embassy on Wednesday to have my interview. My brother was just had his visa granted on Tuesday told me that it is not going to be easy to get a visa based on what he saw. I think at this moment, I will try my best and if I don't get my visa, I will have to think of other alternatives about my treatment.

My weight has more or less remained at 65.1kg. Last few days of the week I mainly had some back pain problems around the shoulder blade areas. I also had pain around my waist area which I thihk was due to my new soft bed matress. I need firmer mattresses. The pain around the buttocks and thigh areas are still there.

One way to manage the pain to make sure I have sufficient rests and hopefully now that with my mother helping me, I would be able to get more rests.

Verdict
Minor pain here and there but a very good week.

Mercury Detoxing

The self is not something ready-made, but something in continuous formation through choice of action.
John Dewey

These few days I have been updating my blog a little late. I just seem to have so many things to do.

Since I started the mercury detox, my coffee enema discharges seems to be more smelly than before. Perhaps more toxins are being discharged. Last two days, my shoulder blade area is also giving me some pain problems and I think this had to do with my lack of sleep, hopefully.

Childhood Friend
After diner, I met one of my childhood friend, Heng. He is one of the dozen or so childhood friends that I still keep in touch. I have spoken to him a few times but this is the first time we met since my cancer. We also agree we should the rest of the gang more often before anyone one of us decides to move on earlier.

I gave a quick update about my cancer and my therapies and he also updated me about his career. I am happy to note that he has finally quite his tressful job to do something he always wanted, to open a restaurant serving a mixture of Western and Malaysian food targeting the middle income people. I wish him the very best in his new venture.

Mercury Detox
I started my mercury detox on Wednesday. This is the required protocol before my dentist would remove my amalgam. I am taking a crash detox program mainly for removing amalgam and this should not be use as an guide for a complete mercury detox.

The following is a safe three steps mercury detox proposed by Mark Hyman, M.D.

Step 1: Getting Ready for Detoxification

This process can take a few months, and I can't stress enough how important this preparation step is. It is accomplished by optimizing your nutritional status and detoxifying ability. Once this is done you will begin mobilizing and binding the metals in your body and excreting them through your urine, bile, stool, and sweat.

Here is what I recommend to my patients.

1. Optimize your gut function. Eliminate the common food allergens ( dairy, gluten, corn, eggs, etc.), taking probiotics and enzymes for 1 to 2 months before detoxifying.

2. Optimize your nutritional status for detoxification. Use healthy fats ( omega-3 fats, olive oil, and flax oil), amino acids (which boost all your liver's detoxification capacity), and minerals, particularly zinc and selenium (which help your body detoxify metals).

3. Enhance your liver's detoxification pathways. Take folate and vitamins B12 and B6 and eating sulfur-containing foods such as broccoli, collards, kale, daikon radish, garlic, onions, and omega-3 eggs, as well as supplements such as alpha-lipoic acid and n-acetylcysteine.

4. Use herbal support for detoxification. These include chlorella, cilantro, garlic, and milk thistle.

5. Start sauna therapy. Make sure you take adequate electrolyte and mineral replacements to prevent dehydration and mineral loss from the sweat.

6. Optimize elimination routes for metals including your urine, stool, and sweat. Use fluids, fiber, and saunas.

Step 2: Integrate Additional Steps to Support Detoxification

At this stage you can integrate the following to support your detoxification even more:

• Dragon Naturals Cilantro Tincture. Take 2 drops in hot water before a meal twice a day.

• Chlorella. Start with 1 pill three times a day and then build up to 3 pills three times a day for 3 months if tolerated -- take 30 minutes before meals and at bedtime.

• Supergarlic 6000 by Metagenics (or an equivalent product). Take 1 twice a day.

• Hepatothera forte (or an equivalent product). Take 1 capsule twice a day by Prothera (Selenium, n-acetylcysteine, lipoic acid, milk thistle).

Step 3: The Metal Detoxification Period

• Find a biological dentist (www.iaomt.org) to evaluate the extent of your mercury fillings and options for replacing them.

This can be done slowly over time, but must be done VERY carefully and only under a trained biological dentist's supervision to avoid burdening yourself with more mercury during the removal process.

• Get a test to assess your total body load of mercury. This is called a challenge or provocation test. The easiest and safest way to do this is to take 500 mg of DMPS in one dose first thing in the morning after emptying your bladder, followed by a 6-hour urine collection. DMPS is a prescription drug and is not FDA-approved in the US, although it has been approved and used for decades in Europe.

The other option is to use DMSA, which is FDA-approved. It pulls out a lot less mercury and needs to be taken at a dose of 30 mg/kg for the challenge test. I find this is not as effective to get a true reading on what is in the body.

• Use binding agents to pull the mercury out of your body. There is a lot of controversy about the best way to do this. But after helping people detox from heavy metals for 10 years, I've found the safest and most effective treatment is oral DMSA.

It is taken as follows: One 100 to 250 mg capsule of DMSA orally three times a day before meals. Take it for 3 days. Then take 11 days off. Do this for 6 months. Then recheck your level of mercury through the challenge test.

• Do saunas daily -- especially on those days when doing DMSA.

• Consider getting intravenous vitamins and antioxidants for 3 months while undergoing this process this to administer glutathione, phospholipids, vitamin C, and B vitamins to boost detoxification. This is harder to get, but can help the process work better and help you feel better throughout the process.

• Drink enough filtered water and fluids to make urine clear.

• Make sure you have bowel movements twice a day. This is very important or you will reabsorb mercury from the gut. You can add ground flax seeds to shakes or foods, or take one to two 150-mg magnesium citrate capsules twice a day if you are not going regularly. You can also try even stronger laxatives if you have to such as senna or cascara.

• Consider whey protein to boost glutathione if you are not allergic to dairy.

Change Of Environment

Three small rules for living a happy life
1. Start each day with a grateful heart.
2. Focus on the positive aspects of every person you encounter.
3. End each day with a grateful heart.
Lucy MacDonald

These few days, I am having some stomach discomfort, mainly gases. I find taking food or juices a bit of a problem. Coupled with two mouth ulcers, this has made eating and talking troublesome. So for the time being, I have modified my diet a bit and took brown rice instead of potatoes with steamed vegetables. This was what I used when I had a similar problem early this year.

I have also changed my organic coffee supplier. When I was in Singapore, I bought the USA coffee and although it was more expensive that my local supplier, I think the important thing is that I get better quality coffee for my enema. Once I finished my current supplies, I will switched to the new coffee. I did try the new coffee yesterday to see if there was any difference. Well it was certaintly more aromatic and the solution much stronger. The effect of the coffee enema was that I got more bile secretion. The reflux was rather bad. Perhaps that also contributed to my stomach problem.

This morning was one of those days I got much more pain than usual on my back and shoulder area. I am not sure if it was due to lack of sleep or otherwise. But as the day progressed, the pain became a bit more bearable.

New Environment
At the invitation of my mother, I have decided to shift back to stay with my mother as she wanted to provide with some support in my juicing and other work such as boiling of herbs. I have also been wanting to have a change of environment as well. Actually I would prefer to go Cameron Highlands but the problem was I could not find suppliers for apples and carrots. If I can resolved that problem, I would moved there instead because it's much more relax there and the cool air up in the highlands would be condusive to healing.

Licensed To Poison

Work joyfully and peacefully, knowing that right thoughts and right efforts will inevitable bring about right results.
James Allen

I am now entering another phase of my therapy working on two areas. The first area is on the spiritual side. I am spending more time doing chantings for the purification of the mind and invoking energy from the mantras for not just healing but spiritual development as well. The other area is the emotional healing aspect. This is much more difficult area and I am engaging professionals to assist.

As for my health condition, I still feel very good. Although my energy levels are not that high, I am able to carry out most daily activities unassisted. The pain level is considered low. As in the past, my main problem for the moment is that I still do not have sufficient rests. I have establised that there is a direct relationship between pain and insufficient rests/stress.

Recruiting a maid is so difficult nowdays. Is it that every Malaysian household is now recruiting so much so there are shortages? It's been over one month and the agency only have one candidate to recommend. I am not too keen on Indonesian maids although there is language advantage to hire them as compared to Cambodian maids. Apparently 60% of indonesian maids will run away.

Amalgam Tooth Fillings
I am quite sure by now, many would have heard about the danger of using dental amalgam as tooth fillings. I must confess from the very start of my Gerson therapy, I am supposed to remove those fillings and yet most of the dentist I visited said it is safe.

Dental amalgam, the material in “silver” tooth fillings, contains approximately 50 per cent of the highly toxic heavy metal mercury, 35% Silver, 15% Tin and other metals. But is it safe to put so much Mercury, the most toxic non-radioactive metal known to man, into the mouth of a person?

There is now a growing mountain of evidence that it is NOT safe to do so. Some countries, like Sweden, Canada and Germany, have either banned or imposed serious limitations on Amalgam usage. The claim that mercury is "locked" safely in the metal bonds in the teeth is NOT TRUE, it can leak slowly into the body, often causing severe illnesses. These are reckoned to possibly include ME/CFS, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimers, and a whole range of "auto-immune" illnesses. In fact, just by damaging the immune system, amalgam could be contributing to an even broader range of illnesses.

Mercury's extreme cytotoxicity and neurotoxicity is a major factor in the neurological conditions, along with its inhibition of basic enzymatic cellular processes and effects on essential minerals and nutrients in cells. The association of mercury to chronic diseases is well documented in the didactic scientific literature (Buttar, Rashid. Autism Spectrum Disorders: US Congressional Sub-Committee Hearing). The search for the association between mercury and cardiovascular disease reveals 358 scientific papers exemplifying the relationship; between mercury and cancer we find 643 scientific papers. The association of mercury with neurodegenerative diseases is the most significant, with the references numbering 1,445.

Removing the amalgam from the tooth is rather a complicated procedure and not every dentist knows the procedure. So it is extermely important that you select the "right" dentist to do the job. Before the amalgam can be removed, the patient is required to undergo a week of mecury detoxification. In my case, the naturopath recommended that I take chlorella with vitamin C for one week. Only one tooth filling can be removed per week. I have 7 tooth fillings and one root canal to remove. The fumes from the tooth filling is highly toxic and the dentist must also ensure none of the toxic materials are allowed to enter the patient's mouth. It's also a very expensive procedure.

What most of us did not know is when we go for our regular dental checkup and the dentist does repairs to some of the amalgam tooth fillings, they just drill directly on the tooth and all those lose amalgam just fell into the bottom of the mouth. The heavy metal toxic poison enters the stomach. So over the years, we have been slowly poisoned.

Now that you know, please do something about it before it's too late. After a class action was taken against the FDA, it appears that FDA is now taking a difference stance on amalgam. Is it possible to file a class action suit against the Malaysian Dental Association/Malaysian Medical Council?

Day 442 and Counting

We learn wisdom from failure much more than from success.
We often discover what will do, by finding out what will not do;
and probably he who never made a mistake never made a discovery.
Samuel Smiles

Bit by bit, the days passed. I have crossed 442 days and now into my 15 month of therapy. Last year my resolution was to survive 2010 and it looks like I will make it. Well it's also time for making the 2011 resolution and it will be to survive 2011.

Mistakes is one of our best teachers. Yet for some things, we cannot afford to make them. Selecting a cancer therpay is one of them. There is no time and tested method, no matter what the literature says. However we can take comfort that even alternative medication now days are tailor made to suite the patient's needs to maximise the effectiveness. Still we got to make the decisions. The worst decision is not to take any form of action.

Of Cancer
I felt a bit disturbed on certain statements made by CK when I read his book Conversations With CK - A Man, His Life & Cancer. The most disturbing was that the reason why he got cancer. He felt that it was his punishment and he was the strongest in the family.

I think we should all remember over 1.5 million people all over the world gets cancer every year, no matter which religion they belong to. There is no discrimination, no special selection. From medical data, we have managed to identified some close approximation on why certain people gets cancer (see The Cancer Personality) and everybody has cancer cells and yet only some would fully develop cancer.

Do not have such self defeating thoughts. Whether as friends or as caregivers of cancer patients, please use your wisdom to set the thought of the patient right. Patients with such thoughts would most likely not survive.

Rude Awakening

Learn all you can from the mistakes of others.
You won't have time to make them all yourself.
Alfred Sheinwold

I have been reading quite a number of other cancer patient's blogs and books. A number of them have died in the process. Some people wonder if I should read those with sad endings. While it may be a difficult read, I think there are lessons to be learned. The idea of sharing is so that subsequent cancer patients can benefit because they will not get another chance for a mistake made.

I am feeling really lousy today. I have been contemplating and reflecting a lot lately.

Sad Revelation
They say life is full of surprises. Even if you have associated with some people for decades, you actually do not know them until your hour of need. I realised that when it is raining, they withdraw the umbrella. Sure, there will be justifications and whatever it is, it's also their right whether to offer assistance or not. Beggers can't be choosers. I was just plain naive. I just got my rude awakening. At the same time, all is not lost.

I have be one of a donor during my pre-cancer days, whether in blood donation, money and/or labour. But now, I am on the other side, receiving. I am slowly getting used to the idea. I have also been receiving assistance from people that I have only brief associations. Someone once told me, when one door closes, five other doors opens!

Living For Self
All these years, I have been working and looking after my family. Even after I got cancer, I still try to do whatever I can but in the process I also neglected to look after myself. I think at this crucial moment of my life, I would want to just live for myself. I am taking sabbatical leave. Selfish of me?

I am reading another book Conversations With CK - A Man, His Life & Cancer. CK was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He did not survive. He planned for retirement at age 49 and he got cancer when 48 years old. I plan for retirement in 50 and got cancer at 49 years old. See the similarities or just a co-incidence?

Many people have told me, go for retirement and you are sending yourself to death faster.

All I have Is Hope

Life is too short to spend your precious time trying to convince a person who wants to live in gloom and doom otherwise. Give lifting that person your best shot, but don't hang around long enough for his or her bad attitude to pull you down. Instead, surround yourself with optimistic people.
Zig Ziglar

A number of friends wrote emails and SMSed me and wondered what happen to me. I did not blog for a day. Like I said, I was in Singapore to see my homeopathy doctor. I will give you an update on what happened.

When I first started the alternative therapies, I was really all alone, not sure if I made the right choices. Actually, there is no right or wrong here. This is because what one therapy works for someone may not be appropriate for another. We are all different in our build up and therapies have to individualised to have maximum effectiveness.

Perhaps this explain why my progress is neither here or there because due to my own lack of experience and not being medically trained, I do not know how to individualise my own therapy. Instead, I followed the standard therapy.

When I was in Singapore for the last three days, I did not do juicing but only ate fruites, rye bread and some vegetabes soup noodles. I noticed that my urine is all red, though not as bad the the fourth episode, but I know I am bleeding daily. It does tell a little bit about the progress of my kidney tumor.

I am also very tired from the trip. My weight has remaind at 65kg and the pain are at the usual places. I hope to sleep early today.

Homeopathy Update
I met Dr Rama on Saturday and he wanted to know what my urologist said about the operation. I told him although the urologist in Singapore is optimistic about the operation, he was however told me that the surgery to remove the kidney tumor would not make any difference in my survival. In fact, that's the conclusion of all the five urologists that I met. Although Dr Rama feels that the removal of the kidney tumor would help in my treatment, the medical literature however has shown otherwise.

The longer the tumor stays in my body, my body condition will continue to deteriorate a little overtime. I am getting thinner, my energy levels has since dropped, I cannot lift heavy things now, there are water retention on both my legs and I am bleeding everyday (blood in urine).

So one of the option that I discussed with Dr Rama is the possibility of targeting the homeopathy treatment on my lung tumors, to try and bring it down or eliminate it totally so that there is justification for removal of the kidney tumor. Dr Rama agreed that there is a possibility and I think our concentration of therapy from now onwards will be to focus on this plan.

Update of Mexico Trip
I am not sure I will be able to get a USA visa to enable me to go to Tijuana, Mexico to get treatment as I found out the US Embassy is rather strict on granting of visas. I need to proved lots of evidence to convince them that I will not stay in US illegally and will come back the Malaysia. Because I listed my employment as Not Employed, I don't know if this will complicate matters.

Still I am hoping the best. Flying direct to Mexico City and then to Tijuana will be taking a big chance. I may have to allow for more days to get the connecting flight. If the visa is not granted, my other hope is to try Budapest, Hungary where there is another Gerson type clinic. No visa is required to visit Hungary for Malaysians.

As my condition deteriorates daily, my only hope is for the doctors at the clinic to prescribe an individualised therapy to help me cope with the tumors.

Seeking Contentment

True contentment depends not upon what we have; a tub was large enough for Diogenes, but a world was too little for Alexander.
Charles Caleb Colton

I have named my blog Upekha, in Pali (the language that was spoken during Buddha's time) to mean equanimity (even tempered, undisturbed, no preferences). I would like to quote a passage by the 5th Century monk, Visuddhimagga: Upekha is characterized as promoting equipoise towards beings. Its function is to see the equality in beings. It is manifested as quieting like and dislike. Its proximate cause is seeing the ownership of deeds thus: "Beings are heirs to their deeds. Whose, if not theirs, is the choice by which they will become happy, or will be free from suffering, or will not fall away from the success they have reached?" It succeeds when it makes like and dislike subside, and it fails when it gives rise to the indifference of ignorance based on the household life.

It is a state of mind that I hope to achieve, I will be at peace with myself and with others. There will be no more cravings, only contentment.

Well it's time for me to visit Singapore again to see my homeopathy doctor. I will be away this weekend and will also be buying my Gerson supplements at Nature's Glory in Tiong Baru, Singapore.

Update On Trip To Mexico
I am now waiting to attend the interview at the US Embassy to see if they will grant me my visa. While it is possible to fly directly to Mexico City, there are however no connecting flights from Mexico City to Tijuana (2,300km away). The fastest way to reach the Gerson Clinic in Tijuana is still via San Diego, California. It's only 45 minutes drive away.

If everything goes smoothly, I will be leaving on 3 December and will be back on 22 December, just in time for the Christmas celebration.

Is It True?

Got no checkbooks, got no banks,
Still I'd like to express my thanks -
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night.
Irving Berlin

As I was looking back into my life, especially for the last 10 years or so, I thought I was working to fill up my bank account. I immersed myself in work so much so, I forgot my own health. As it deteriorated, I thought it's just fatigue and stressed from work. Everybody who works has these, a job hazards. My body was giving me signals but I could not see, I was too busy with this or that nor did I made any attempt to pause and understand more.

I thought I was healthy, I jog once a week on a hilly track and go to the gym to work out. Occasionaly I go for a swim too. I can outrun many 30+ year olds. I take part in half and quarter marathons and 7KM charity runs occasionally. Oh, yes, I don't smoke neither do I take liquor or even beer. An occasional drinker when I have to entertain customers/friends and during festive times.

So I was awaken by this big jolt of my life. This was my awakening call, the last chance my body is giving me. But what a price I am now paying. If I could, I would go back ten years back and take a simpler route in life. What saddens me is that as a Buddhist, we adopt the middle path, neither exterme in everything we do. I did not practice what I learned!

Believe System
When I was diagnosed with cancer, the first thing that was imprinted into my mind was what the doctor said. He made me believe that there was no cure and not only that. He did not even offer me any hope like there could be alternatives. Under those circumstances, what was in my mind then was how to spend the last few months of my life. I believe in what he said and subsequent six other specialist doctors also said the same thing. Doomed was I.

Yes, crying was one of the favourate activity. Actually can cry for weeks and still not enough. But then it occured to me was that it would be pointless to engage in self pity and if the doctors cannot cure me, at least I should try other means of curing myself. Yes, I can think, something I take for granted and more so now, I need to think. My thought was I can change and it has to start with me.

Louise Hay in her book, You Can Heal Your Life says "Whatever we believe becomes true for us". We make up our own believe system and this believe system actually arises from our own thought patterns. Most of us are not aware of it but it shape us. Unknown to us, some of what we believe are adopted from others, common acceptable believes is one such example.

So unless we change our thought patterns, we are stuck. For cancer patients, it is very important to know we are in total control of our thoughts. What the doctors said is only THEIR BELIEVE. You don't have to necessary buy it. Change you can and Ms Hay reminds us The Point of Power is always the present moment. You are never struck. This is where the changes take place, right here and right now in our own minds!

Thankful To Be Alive

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.
Buddha

I could not sleep well last night, so I thought I may as well write today's blog early in the morning. I will have a busy day later today.

I have been constantly reminded by my friends to be cheerful and positive. I guess when you are in my position, that is what most will ask me to do. I have been very fortunately despite the situation I am in, I am still about to be mobile and do my daily routine. I am really thankful. Of late, my must also thank a lot more people for reaching out to help me. A very sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart, but for you my heart has no bottom.

My chest area is clear and most of the time, I think it is under control. However, my usual trouble areas are still my buttocks and thighs. There is constant pain there. I believe I lost some muscles on my buttocks because sitting is now more painful. I think the kidney tumor (based on the last scan in August 2010) may be slowly growing. Both my lower legs are a little swollen, perhaps retention of water due to my kidney problem? According to a medical website, when your circulation has problems working against the effects of gravity, your blood collects in the lower part of your body. The extra pressure on your blood vessels makes them leak fluid into the tissues of your legs and ankles. This causes swelling, and your skin can become very discoloured; in severe cases your skin may even weep fluid. Large veins on the surface can become swollen and painful – a condition known as varicose veins.

Well, I just have to monitor my legs then. Sometime I do get a little pain on the right side of my waist, just below the kidney tumor. It's not that painful, but can be disturbing.

Again, my weight has fallen below 66kg to 65.9. I have been eating a lot but somehow instead of putting on weight, I am actually losing a little by little. Sigh.

Most Contaminated Fruits And Vegetables

I was reading Anti Cancer - A New Way of Life by Dr David Servan-Schreiber, MD, PHD and would like to reproduce the table containing the most contaminated fruits and vegetables. At least you should know for some fruits and vegetables, you should always buy organic for your consumption.

Most Contaminated (prefer organic)Less Contaminated (growing method less important)

So You Got Six Months To Live

Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.
Francesca Reigler

Thanks to Janice and Christine, who made all the arrangement including procuring all the necessities required for the blessing of Ken Rinpoche. It went on smoothly and ended with a dinner dana.

Today was really a bad day for me. For the first time, the water in herbs that I was boiling went dry, really dried so much so the whole steel pot was black in color. I was really off tangent and my mind was working ovetime so much so I forgot about the herbs until the beautiful burnt smell came!

The Art Of Dying
Almost every cancer patient's first contact is with the conventional medical profession. No matter which country your doctor is qualified from, they all preach the same things. If the patient have been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, well the answer is almost all the same, only the difference is how much time to live the patient has.

There are possibly three ways a cancer patient reacts. The first group is the doctors knows best. I have heard of stories that the cancer patient died exactly the same date as predicted by the doctor. Why not? If the patient listens to the doctor and thinks there is no hope, can the outcome be different? The patient has give up hope on living and the result is what you get.

The second group are those who plays safe. Try conventional first and when that cannot help, they go alternative. Sort of best of both worlds. But unknown to the cancer patient, much of the body has been poisioned by conventional treatment. For the first time a urologist admitted to me that chemotherapy is poison. I will not name him. But more often that not when the immune system is damaged by so much poison from conventional treatment, it takes a long long time for the body to even get back to the state before the start of the conventional treatment. I have personally seen so many go. Really sad.

The third group are those who go direct for alternative treatment. Brave souls some would say. But the problem with alternative therapies are there are so many to choose from. Which is the correct one? Though question but do know that no treatment, convetional or alternative can be 100% effective. So decide with care.

So how do cancer patient want to die? The art of dying is actually in the hands of the cancer patients themselves.

What I want to share about is the timeframe give by the doctors. When doctors give six months to live, what does that mean to the cancer patients? Where did the doctors get those statistics? If you look at medical literature, the scientific studies leave no room for doubt. This or that cancer are incurable. It then offers the median survival time of so many months.

As a cancer patient, what you should know is that there is no fixed rule to apply to everything in a fixed manner. You will have variations. The median is nothing more than an abstraction, a law that the human mind tries to impose on the diverse profusion of individual cases (Professor Stephen Gould).

For my case, my median survival given by my doctors is six months. This means half the population will die in less than six months while the other half will die more than 6 months. So the key to survial is to find yourself on the right hand side (tail end) of the distribution. So when the doctor pronounce the death sentence on the cancer patient, it does not mean that the patient will die within the time given. The cancer patient can live longer but only if he thinks otherwise. Understand this. I am a good an example. Of course, if the patient selects the appropriate therapy, the cancer patient can live even longer.

Good Things Do Happen

Real life is not always going to be perfect or go our way, but the recurring acknowledgment of what is working in our lives can help us not only survive but surmount our difficulties.
Sarah Ban Breathnach

I don't know why today time just flew. I only managed to write today's post now. I was busy preparing for a Rinpoche's visit to my house tomorrow for blessing services. Yes, I have also been active spiritually lately.

Of Receiving Help
Last Saturday, Janice and Christine invited me to join them to visit Kai Ma (Cantonese for Godmother) Center, a Mayahana Buddhist Center in SS2 for new moon chanting. This was the first time I been there. We also bought some live fishes from the market that were meant to be slaughtered for release into a pond.

After the service, two people received aid for the same amount and I was one of them. The Center contributed a cool RM10K aid to me! Wow, I was lost for words.

Many people have shown great compassion and also taken their time and trouble to help others in need. On my part, I am of course very happy and more importantly inspite of such difficult times, there are no shortages of people doing charity. I must recover from my sickness and repay their kindness by not only contributing but also to extend the same compassion shown to me to others.

Telling The Truth

I would rather regret the things that I have done than the things that I have not.
Lucille Ball

I think I have done all that I can for the physical aspects of my therapy. Currently I am focuing on the psychological aspects of the therapy as detailed in The Cancer Personality.

Personality Traits and Cancer Risk
A recent study on 60,000 cancer survivors' personality and cancer offers reassurance that you don't need to "have the fighting spirit" to survive cancer for up to 30 years each. So, what matters most?

According to Suzanne Dixon, MPH, RD personality had no connection with either cancer risk, or risk of dying after cancer diagnosis. If you've been struggling to come to terms with fear, anger, anxiety, and other feelings that a cancer diagnosis can bring, let yourself work through these feelings any way you need to. You don't need to be chipper and upbeat all the time. You need to find out the best way to cope for you.

Talk to your health care team about emotional support services. They can refer you to social workers, counselors, art and music therapists, support groups, informational sessions, and other resources for coping. You can talk to the religious leader at your place of worship or go online for support. Your family and friends can help you cope with a cancer diagnosis too.

Emotional Healing
Yesterday morning, I had breakfast (I ate oats) with Allen and Bee Tin at Subang Jaya SS15 McD. As we were fiddling with the setup of Allen's new ADSL access router, I told Bee Tin knowing what emotional probelms that causes cancer are one thing, and how to deal with it is totally another.

For many people, the three main problem areas with relationships comes from dealings with their parents, siblings and spouse. In many families (particular Chinese families), it is common to find the parents screaming at their children, telling they are useless and in some cases even telling that they should have strangled the child when he/she was born. Such hurtful words are imprinted in the mind of the child and carried into adulthood and will affect their relationships at work, with their spouse, and even how their teach their own children. Many people are not aware they have this problem. Do you feel sometimes your are sad but somehow do not know why? Do you feel sometimes you are not good enough in anything you do? Have you ever wondered why?

According to a friend, her homeopathy practitioner said that out of 100 married people, all of them have unfullfilled relationships. Strong words indeed. Overtime, the couples grow apart. The marriage is now probably one of convenience, trying to keep one another happy on the surface level and obligations to each other and the children. During conversations/heated arguments with the other half, sometimes hurtful words are said and these words are kept in the mind. One of the spouse would silently retreat and lick his/her wounds. Overtime these unreleased emotions becomes stress to the body.

Why do people not want to deal with their emotions when they know it can help them lead a healthier life? Lobo in his song, How Can I Tell Her sings "but when it is easy, telling someone the truth". Yes, the truth hurts and it's painful.

For example, emotional release would involves the couple agreeing to sit together to listen to each other's point of views and expectations about their relationship, no holds barred. This is not a complaint or blaming session. It's done for the purpose of the couple understanding each other's views and for their own well being. The couple then must come to agreement on how to proceed with the relationship, compromises are made. However, the couple would also need to decide what each want to do in those areas where they are not agreeable. It could make or break the relationship, irreconciled differences. Scary for many to have to deal with all these issues. Some would prefer to continue to live in denial. How many couples are ready to deal? Getting professional help is your first step to help yourselves.

Don't wait till you have cancer to find out. It could be too late. Trust me.

The Cancer Personality: Cancer Cannot Exist Without Stress

And now, the conclusion.

Part 5 (by Lothar Hirneise)

For Lothar Hirneise, world-renowned cancer researcher: “Cancer cannot exist without stress. One hundred percent impossible! There are a lot of debates on types of stress – physical and psychological – but for a cell it doesn’t matter where the stress comes from. Every cancer patient has a sugar problem. Insulin transports sugar to cells. Adrenaline takes it away. You have an excess of adrenaline initially when under stress, however, long-term stress results in adrenaline shortages. That’s what you see in cancer patients.”

According to Lothar Hirneise: “A tumour forms because someone is no longer producing adrenaline, which is needed to break down sugar. An excess of sugar is dangerous, so the body produces tumours.

Tumours ferment — burn — sugar. They also use a lot of energy — sugar — due to the fast division of cells. That's why some tumours grow so fast. Cancer cells function like liver cells, only much more efficiently. So the tumour helps you to rid your body of poisons. Without the tumour you would be really ill. I always tell people: 'The tumour is not your problem. A tumour is an incredibly ingenious solution on the part of the body.' When you get healthy, the tumour disappears on its own, which is why you shouldn't immediately operate to remove it. First detoxify yourself. If the tumour continues to grow — which is almost never the case — you can always operate later."

Who Survives Cancer

Lothar Hirneise is a very knowledgeable advocate and writer on alternative healing who spent years traveling and searching for the most successful cancer therapies. The following is an excerpt from a one of his extensive lectures on healing cancer.

Lothar Hirneise: In the last few years I have interviewed several hundred so-called final stage so-called survivors, meaning patients who were in the final stage of cancer and who are all healthy again today. And already after, let me say 50 patients, did it become rather clear to me, what was actually going on here. Very simple, there are three points:

1. One point, which I discovered with 100% of all survivors, is the energy work. I will come back to that.

2. In approximately, hmm - I will say 80% of all patients, I found a nutritional change.

3. And in at least 60% of all patients did I find intensive detoxification therapies.

Diet and Nutrition

If anyone says there is no cancer diet, give him my telephone number. That is a lie. I have shaken the hands of many people, who, thanks to an extreme dietary change became well. And if anyone comes, any of of these much too clever professors and goes "Cancer diets are nonsene", send him to me. I can prove the opposite. I have collected enough cases and I know these patients personally. When we talk of nutrition, we naturally also talk about getting energy. We must understand that we have three ways and means of getting energy into our bodies.

1. The first means is the light. Light is naturally our number 1 source of energy. Of that I am 100% sure.

2. The second way is organic nutrition. I emphasize the word organic, of course, because it is of no avail to eat this hamburger stodge. Because there is nothing in it anymore. On the contrary, when you eat this, you lose energy every time, which you then have to compensate for.

3. Either through going out into the light, or through a third possibility which you have, can you let energies flow into your body, namely your thoughts. Think about the last time that you were in love. Maybe some time has gone by since then but you can surely remember it. My goodness, how we felt, didn't we? Wasn't it fantastic? Yes - but what was it? Did our DNA change? Did our cell respiration change? No, nothing changed. The East Indians would say our chakras were open. Something in our body was open so that the energy that is there could flow again. That is the secret of health, not only to produce energy, but also to let the energy flow. That means our thoughts, our mental-spiritual side is enormously important.

Back to nutrition. Of all nutritional theories that I have investigated, the one in first place is Dr. Johanna Budwig. I had the luck through thousands of so-called coincidences, that she allowed me to investigate all her cases of the last thirty years, and nowhere in the world have I found not even remotely such fantastic cases as with Dr. Budwig. It's phenomenal. People in a coma, who received her so-called Electron Differential Oils (ELDI Oils), and who were only rubbed [massaged] with this oil, did again awake from their coma. They were able to eat again and they walk around normally today. It is simply phenomenal. Therefore, once again, if you don't know Dr Budwig, if you don't know her Oil-Protein Diet, that is the absolute basis of the nutritional therapy for cancer patients.

Detoxification

The second point that I found is detoxification. Detoxification covers two points.

1. The first is naturally to avoid toxins and poisons. Toothpaste, etc.)

2. And the second point, which naturally belongs to detoxification, is not to add any toxins in future. The most important point is definitely diet. I don't think it needs any further belabouring. That is the absolute point. We poison ourselves today with what we eat. And I think it is better not to eat than all this rubbish that one can buy today.

The other point are the teeth. Here too I believe I don't need to talk much about it, because you all know that (healthy) teeth (and gums) are phenomenally important. Heat is a very, very good way to expel poisons. (Fever Therapy, Hyperthermia). All the parasite cleanses, of course. Colon cleansing, ELDI-Oils (an important part of the Budwig Protocol). People should drink a great lot of water. Trampoline (rebounder) muscle training and out into the light, out into the light. Not only Dr. Budwig, the late professor Julius Hackethal M.D. sent his patients every day into the sun as well. He would say, five minutes on each side, and whenever possible, twice daily.

Unfortunately we have this new phenomenon today that the sun is suddenly supposed to be bad for you: it causes skin cancer and all that nonsense. Forget it. We are all children of the light, we need the light. We need no sunburn, with that I agree, but we definitely need light. Go outside. We don't need the sun, we need light. Even if it's raining today, go outside. And tell this to your patients. Even when they are in a coma must they be wheeled out. You must go twice daily into the light. (Light from the sun increases Melatonin that fights cancer cells, increases Vitamin D, important for the liver as the master immune system organ, and increases the body's
energy levels).

Energy Work

I am coming to the most important point: energy work. I divide it into mental and spiritual energy work. What did I discover with cancer patients? Naturally, you begin meditating and reflecting about life, 'Why do I have cancer and what is the purpose of my life, why am I on this earth?', and so on and so forth.

But I noticed something else. I call it SYSTEM CHANGE. We all live in Systems. In our marriage, in our house, in our job, etc. Many, many, many of these cancer patients made system jumps. They kicked their husband in the butt and threw him out. They quit their job, they moved, they not only moved their bed, they moved out of their apartment, they went to other countries. Does it mean that you have to do all of these things? I don't know. Quite

honestly, I don't know. But I can tell you from my experience, it's just remarkable to what extent people changed their life before they were in a position to get well.

Dr. Bodo Kohler wrote in his book about light that he was almost sure that he could heal any cancer patient. How? "I take him by the hand and fly him to an oasis in Africa. Let's see whether the tumor can survive this. Now what happens in an oasis? The sun? - sure, the sun can help. But something else is more important.

When you have cancer and you fly to an oasis in Africa you have more or less left all the systems in which you live here. And this makes it difficult for a tumor to survive in your body."

Lothar Hirneise Concludes

"There is no spontaneious remission, there are only people who positively change their life and regained their health that way."

Health Status @ 6 November 2010

Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left.
Hubert Humphrey

New information are presented in italics.

Problem
Tumor mass of size of about 15cm on the right kidney and 21 and 20 nodes all over my left and right lungs respectively with one up to 3cm in size on both lungs. Possibly also spread to the liver.

Latest scan on 26 August 2010 showed slight improvement and the bigger nodes in my lungs are now smaller. However, the kidney tumor has grown slightly bigger to 15cm.

4. Others - Rye bread, papaya, guavas, oranges and bananas are consumed at regular intervals.

b. Homeopathy Medicine
Consulting Doctor: DR AU Ramakrishnan MBBS, PhD, Chennai, India (http://www.drramakrishnan.com/)
Local Consultant: Vishuddi Lee
Treatment Started: 6 November 2009.
Consulting: Once every two months in Singapore. Next appointment 13 November 2010.
Reaction: No further reactions observed other than mouth ulcers every now and then.

c. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Clinic: CA Care, Subang Jaya Center (http://www.cacare.com/)
Main Consultant: Dr Chris Teo
Treatment Started: 27 August 2010.
Medication: Capsule A+B, 4 capsules 3 time daily. Lungs, liver and kidney herbs to be taken once a day. C-tea to be taken throughout the day.
Reaction: Stomach a little uncomfortable after taking Capsule A and the herbs. Increase frequency in night urine.

The upper body pain has been minimal and I am grateful for it. The pain around the buttocks and thigh areas are still there. This morning, I went for a morning walk and it seem to have help in the pain reduction.

I think the key is still to have sufficient rests.

Did not take my weight this morning. I think my weight has more or less the same as previous week. This afternoon I had Janice and Christine coming over to help me with my juicing and also preparing lunch. I have learned new ways of preparing. Janice is a good cook and I hope to learn new ways of preparing my food. At last, some variety for me. Hopefully, I can gain weight in the process when I eat more.

Verdict
No complaints, a very good week.

Festival Of Lights

Your circumstances may be uncongenial, but they shall not remain so if you only perceive an ideal and strive to reach it. You cannot travel within and stand still without.
James Allen

I am in holiday mood, so I will make my post short today.

My body pains are mainly centered around the buttocks and thighs. The chest and shoulder blade areas are almost free of pain. There are some slight pain around the abdomen area. The lungs are clear and I have no problems whatsoever. I have been resting more these days.

Happy Deepavali
I would like to wish all my Indian friends, a very Happy Deepavali, the festivals of lights.

May this auspicious day bring you abundance of health.

This is one day I look forward to when I visit my friends and savour their home cooked South Indian crusine. So spicy and delicious. My taste buds are watering. Sigh.

Am I True To Myself?

Travel deep inside yourself without the baggage of conditioning. Be an explorer, have patience and eventually your true nature will surface.

You will return from your journey with fresh skin and you will approach each day with a wonderful sense of wonder and bliss.
Macro R. Capristo

For the past two months, I have been exploring a different aspect of my existing therapies. The psychological aspects, in my opinion, plays an important part of healing and there are many books written about it. When I first read The Cancer Personality, I was amazed that I fit in to more than 90% of the traits described. And it you look at the traits, the majority has to do with emotional aspects of the cancer patient. Neglect at your own peril! Louise Hay in her book, You Can Heal Your Life says "Do not wait to discover this when you are under the surgeon's knife!"

Today's quote is to remind all of us to take a journey deep inside ourselves and release the bagging that you have been carrying for so long, unconsciously. Make a concerted effort to release the emotional toxicity within you and lead not only a healthier but also a more emotional fullfilled life.

Knowing Yourself
Many of us do not know ourselves. We think we know but actually we don't. Maybe we are afraid to face our own self. Perhaps the following can serve as a reminder:

Am I True To Myself - A Mirror For The Soul

I have to live with myself, and so
I want to be fit for myself to know,
I want to be able, as days go by,
Always to look myself straight in the eye;
I don’t want to stand, with the setting sun,
And have myself for things I have done
I don’t want to keep on a closet shelf
A lot of secrets about myself,
And fool myself as I come and go,
Into thinking that nobody else will know
The kind of man I really am;
I don’t want to dress up myself in sham.
I want to go out with my head erect,
I want to deserve all men’s respect;
But here in the struggle for fame and pelf
I want to be able to like myself.
I don’t want to look at myself and know
That I’m bluster, bluff and empty show.
I can never hide myself from me;
I see what others may never see;
I know what others may never know,
I never can fool myself, and so,
Whatever happens, I want to be
Self-respecting and conscience free.

My Gerson Clinic Trip
I just realised that it is so difficult to book the plane tickets to LA. Most of the major airlines are fully booked and I am now on the waiting list only, apparently because it's peak season now. Of course, the more troublesome aspect is getting the visa to enter USA. It is now made very difficult. Sigh.

The Cancer Personality: How Stress Causes Cancer At The Cellular Level

Part 4
Cancer occurs at the cellular level. And there are a number of factors that create stress on the body’s cells, causing them to become (1) depleted of adrenaline, (2) high in sugar and (3) low in oxygen, where they are more prone to mutate and become cancerous. The higher the sugar content of the cell caused by a depletion of adrenaline, and the lower the oxygen content, the greater the likelihood of normal cells mutating and becoming cancerous.

There are a number of factors that contribute to a normal cell becoming depleted of adrenaline, high in sugar and low in oxygen. Physiological stresses include (and are not limited to): Poor nutrition, Chemicals, Toxins, EMF Radiation, Parasites, Liver / Colon / Kidney disease, Lack of Exercise, etc. Psychological stresses include (and are not limited to): Inescapable Shock, Repressed Feelings, Depression, Isolation, Poor Sleep, Emotional Trauma, External Conflict, etc.

In the vast majority of those with cancer, there exists both a combination of psychological as well as physiological stresses that have contributed to the body’s cells becoming depleted of adrenaline, high in sugar and low in oxygen, causing them to mutate and become cancerous.

We have simplified the stages of cancer into 5 separate categories or phases, so that you may see more clearly how cancer cells and more importantly, how tumor sites are formed within the body.

Phase 1 – Inescapable Shock / Emotional Trauma

This initial phase occurs approximately 2 years prior to the cancer diagnosis. This is where the individual experiences an “inescapable shock”, affecting deep sleep and the production of melatonin within the body. Melatonin is necessary for inhibiting cancer cell growth and is the primary hormone responsible for regulating the immune system.

During this phase a part of the emotional reflex centre in the brain slowly
down, creating a dark spot on the brain (viewed by X-ray). Each part of the emotional reflex centre controls and is connected to an organ or part of the
body, and when the emotion centre begins to break down, so too does the organ or body part it is connected to.

Phase 2 – Stress Suppresses The Immune System

During this second phase, the immune system is suppressed by elevated stress hormone cortisol levels. The immune system also receives subconscious messages from the affected emotion centre of the brain to slow down, and to even stop working altogether. An individual experiencing “inescapable shock” often feels like they have died “emotionally” on some level, and the immune system receives these messages as a subliminal signal or command to give up the fight to live also.

This causes somatids to react. Somatids are tiny living organisms (necessary for life) that live in our blood. Different types of somatids are specific to and inhabit different organs of the body. In a healthy organism, where the immune system is functioning properly, these somatids are limited to 3 stages in their life cycle – somatid, spore, double spore. When the immune system is impaired or suppressed, somatids pleomorphise (or change) into a further 13 stages (16 altogether).

These further 13 stages are pathogenic (harmful) to the body and include viral, bacterial, and yeast-like fungus forms.

Below: The Somatid 16 stage Cycle - Professor Gaston Naessens

Phase 3 – Stress Causes Cell Glucose Levels to Rise

Over time, elevated stress hormone levels cause adrenaline levels to be depleted within the body, causing glucose (sugar) levels to rise within normal cells. The main purpose of adrenaline is to remove and convert glucose from cells for energy for the body, just as it is the main purpose of insulin to transport glucose (sugar) into cells. When the adrenaline reserves are depleted, glucose (sugar) levels increase sharply within cells – leaving little room for oxygen. This is why so many cancer patients are weak and lethargic, because they have no adrenaline left (or very little) to convert the glucose in their cells into energy for the body and their cells subsequently have very little room left to accept oxygen from passing blood.

Phase 4 – Fungus Enter Cells to Feed on Glucose

During this fourth phase, pathogenic microbes (virus-bacteria-fungus) that
have pleomorphised and established themselves in a weakened part of the body, enter normal cells to feed on high glucose levels. This fermentation of glucose causes “mycotoxins” to be released (a highly acidic waste product), which 1) breaks the Krebs Cycle of the cell (a process that uses oxygen as part of cellular respiration), and 2) breaks the Electron Transport Chain of the cell, meaning the number of ATP molecules drops dramatically. (ATP molecules provide energy to the cell.) This lack of oxygen and cell energy means normal cells mutate during the dividing process – creating new rogue cancer cells.

The body’s tissue and cells become highly acidic (low pH) due to the waste by-products caused by these viral-bacterial-yeast-like fungus. Over-acidification of the body also occurs due to fermentation of excess stress hormones in the body, poor diet (low pH value foods), and lack of exercise. Viruses, bacteria, yeast, mould, fungus, candida and cancer cells thrive in a low pH acidic environment.

Phase 5 – Fungus and Cancer Form Symbiotic Relationship

During this fifth phase viral-bacterial-yeast-like fungus form a symbiotic relationship with newly created cancer/tumor cells. Yeast-like fungus is symbiotic in nature and feeds on the high levels of glucose to use for energy for reproduction of new somatids. The yeast-like fungus provides a natural fermentation process and ferments the glucose within the cancer/tumor cell, providing energy and a natural growth factor in return.

The yeast-like fungus uses the cancer/tumor cells as a host or house for their rich reserves of glucose, and stimulates these cancer/tumor cells to propagate more houses. The result is a mass of tumor cells, or tumor sites.

Yeast-like fungus prevent cancer / tumor cells reverting back into normal healthy cells (re-establishing their Krebs Cycle), as they continue to cause “mycotoxins” to be released (a highly acidic waste product), meaning cancer / tumor cells in a sense are held hostage to the yeast-like fungus that inhabit them.

See Cancer Fungus to understand more fully the Fungus-Cancer Link and what you can do to eradicate fungus within your body.

Phase 6 – Stress Stimulates Tumor Cell Growth / Metastases

During this final phase elevated stress hormone norepinephrine and epinephine levels, stimulate tumor cells to produce three (3) compounds: MMP-2 and MMP-9 (both martix metalloproteinases) and the growth compound VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor).

Tumor cells make receptors for these stress hormones on their surface, to stimulate these three compounds. MMP-2 and MMP-9 breakdown the scaffolding of tumor cell walls making it easier for them to travel to other parts of the body, a process known as metastasis. VEGF causes blood vessels to grow in new tumor cells, so that they can grow and spread more rapidly.

News of cancer at this stage, often becomes a further “inescapable shock” and the cycle begins again with secondary tumor sites forming in different parts or organs of the body.

Use both the Mind-Body Self Hypnosis Cancer CD and EFT for cancer to remove internal emotional stress that is causing your cancer.

Trying To Relax

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction, both are transformed.
Carl Gustav Jung

This morning I was a little busy as I ran out of distilled water. By the time I got the water, it was almost 11am and could only do my morning enema at about 12noon. The enema was a little painful on my left leg. For the first time, there was a painful twitch on my left leg that lasted about 2 minutes. Never happened before. I have been coughing a bit too this morning and despite the hard coughs, there was no blood clots in the white phelgm. The pain around my shoulder blade area is very minimal and I suspect that was due to lack of sleep. This is because when I had adequate sleep, the pain is minimal.

Total Relaxation
Ever since I started taking hypnotherapy, I have been trying to get some total relaxation. My hypnotherapist, Dr Chong gave me some scripts to follow and I am required to practice it twice a day, once in the morning and once before I sleep. Due to my qi gong class, I can only do the morning practice after lunch. I think it's quite good because I think I have been relaxing much better now.

The practice is important because the next session I will be doing is regression. Being able to go into a relax state would help. Regression is going back to my past to untie some knots. This will help in my cancer healing.

The meeting of the physical aspects of the therapies and now the psychological aspects will, I hope transform me and turn the tables on the cancer cells.

The Cancer Personality: How Unresoved Trauma Causes Cancer

Part 3
One of the most recent studies on psychosomatic cancer therapy comes from Germany. Over the past ten years, medical doctor / surgeon Ryke-Geerd Hamer has examined 20,000 cancer patients with all types of cancer. (My note: Dr Ryke Geerd Hamer research is also called German New Medicine. More information can be obtained here).

Dr. Hamer wondered why cancer never seems to systematically spread directly from one organ to the surrounding tissue. For example, he never found cancer of the cervix AND cancer of the uterus in the same woman. He also noticed that all his cancer patients seemed to have something in common: there had been some kind of psycho emotional conflict prior to the onset of their disease - usually a few years before - a conflict that had never been fully resolved.

X-rays taken of the brain by cancer Dr. Hamer showed in all cases a ‘dark shadow’ somewhere in the brain. These dark spots would be in exactly the same place in the brain for the same types of cancer. There was also a 100% correlation between the dark spot in the brain, the location of the cancer in the body and the specific type of unresolved conflict. On the basis of these findings, Dr. Hamer suggests that when we are in a stressful conflict that is not resolved, the emotional reflex center in the brain which corresponds to the experienced emotion (e.g : anger, frustration, grief) will slowly break down. Each of these emotion centers are connected to a specific organ. When a center breaks down, it will start sending wrong information to the organ it controls, resulting in the formation of deformed cells in the tissues: cancer cells. He also suggests that metastasis is not the SAME cancer spreading. It is the result of new conflicts that may well be brought on by the very stress of having cancer or of invasive and painful or nauseating therapies.

Dr Hamer started including psychotherapy as an important part of the healing process and found that when the specific conflict was resolved, the cancer immediately stopped growing at a cellular level. The dark spot in the brain started to disappear. X-rays of the brain now showed a healing edema around the damaged emotional center as the brain tissue began to repair the afflicted point. There was once again normal communication between brain and body. A similar healing edema could also be seen around the now inactive cancer tissue. Eventually, the cancer would become encapsulated, discharged or dealt with by the natural action of the body. Diseased tissue would disappear and normal tissue would then again appear.

According to cancer Dr Hamer the real cause of cancer and other diseases is an unexpected traumatic shock for which we are emotionally unprepared. The following list shows some of the relationships between conflict emotions and target organs.
