Only You Can Make The Difference

Every now and then, you will see me saying and repeating the same things. Forgive this old man. It may seems like a drop in the ocean, insignificant. But I disagree. I am trying to get, at least one of you to change. Please change your life style before its too late. Cancer is on the increase and if last month you did not get it, then your chances of getting it later becomes even more as the day passes. Less oil, sugar and salt in your diet. Lower your meat consumption to less than 25% of your diet. If possible, be a vegan at least two days a week. Don't be like me, struggling just to make another day. Its like living in hell on earth.

Yesterday I did some wood work. My daughter wanted a custom made white light box (13" x 18") with a matt glass top for her drawings as she needs to carry it around. For most part of the work, I use wood working equipment (I am a handyman) to do the job and the most taxing is to smoothern the surfaces of the wood. With a electric planner, it gets the job done easily. I used a manual saw because the jig saw would not give a straight cut while the circular saw is an overkill for the job. I must say everything went smoothly and did the job in two hours split over two sessions as I need to juice and do coffee enema in between. My energy levels has certainly improved and I did not feel tired while doing the manual work.

This morning I woke up a bit tired and there was same muscle pain around the thighs and back of the body due to yesterday's squatting and bending. I am not complaining as this pain is a far cry from what I experienced previously in March and April.

Happy Weekend

The last few days have been good. Very little pain, stomach gases although present but in control, ulcers getting better. Since taking brown rice porridge, I have not had any major problems eating. I will stay away from stewed vegetables for a while and in place of it eat raw fruits and other vegetables. I have adjusted taking my Q10 in the afternoon instead of in the evening as I believe it will improve my energy levels in the afternoon.

Despite the improvements, I will continue to focus my attention on the therapies I am taking, not letting my guards down. It would be a mistake to relax because the work is far from done even if I have made substantial improvements. That why these therapies I am taking takes two years, another year to uproot all the remaining "unripe" tumor cells in the body and also restoration of the liver. The coffee enema is really good. Nowdays I feel dull if I did not do my coffee enema on time, like those days I have to travel to Singapore.

I was watching a Japanese drama called Godhand Teru online. In one of the episodes (only 6 episodes all together), the Director of the hospital said while skills and technical abilities are good, it is also very important to believe in what you are doing. The frame of mind sometimes determines success or failure as demonstrated by Dr Lodi (in Healing Cancer From Inside Out) when he said two patients, same problem, and guess who survived?

Health Status @ 29 May 2010

New information are presented in italics.

Problem
Tumor mass of size of about 14cm on the right kidney and 21 and 23 over nodes all over my left and right lungs respectively with one up to 3cm in size on both lungs. Possibly also spread to the liver.

First detected on 11 September 2009 through CT Scan. Subsequent CT scan on 1 March 2010 showed some improvements on the larger nodes in the lungs but did not provide enough details on the smaller nodes. The primary tumor is now about 12.4cm, about the same size in October 2009. The two bigger nodes on the left and right lungs has reduced by about 1.5cm. However, a new node was detected about the size of 3.5cm x 3.7cm at the T6 area.

Prognosis
Consulted four urologists (one in Singapore and three in Malaysia) and two oncologists (one in Malaysia and one in Singapore). Both oncologists suggested removal of right kidney. Singapore urologist also suggested removal of kidney. The three urologists do not recommend surgery or chemotherapy. The last urologist consulted said most of his patients died within six months of surgery while two on the expensive (RM20K per month) drug Sutent is not responding. All agree that is no cure for the moment.

My urologist said my cancer is at stage 4 and did not recommend me to take any treatment. It is also my own choice not to take conventional treatment after considering all the facts of the case.

Schedule for next scan is in 1 September 2010.

MAIN THERAPIES
a. Modified Gerson Therapy
a1. Coffee Enema
Initially, four times a day for four weeks, every four hours apart. Currently three times a day in the morning, afternoon and evening for 15 minutes.

Commence castor oil enema from 23 January 2010.

a2. Nutrition Diet
All fruits and vegetables mentioned are organic.
i. Juicing - 11 fruit and vegetables juices a day beginning around 7am and ending 7pm. 5 apple+carrot, 2 carrot and 4 green vegetable juices every hourly. Liver supplements are taken together with carrot juices.
2. Diet - No oil, no sugar and no salt on all cooking. For breakfast and supper, mainly oats with some raisins, sometimes a little Manuka honey is added. For lunch and dinner, vegetables such as Siew Pak Choy, Lettuce, lady's fingers, cauliflower, broccoli and spinach are mainly steamed or boiled. K-salt is added for flavoring. A teaspoon of flaxseed oil is added when serving (but not during cooking). Mainly boiled potatoes and sometimes Somali organic brown rice is consumed. Hippocrates soup are also prepared every other day for daily consumption.
3. Supplements - K-salt, B12, niacin, lugol solution, pancreatin, pepsin and Q10.
4. Others - Rye bread, papaya, guavas, oranges and bananas are consumed at regular intervals.

b. Homeopathy Medicine
Consulting Doctor: DR AU Ramakrishnan MBBS, PhD, Chennai, India (http://www.drramakrishnan.com/)
Local Consultant: Vishuddi Lee
Treatment Started: 6 November 2009.
Consulting: Once every two months in Singapore. Next appointment 12 July 2010.
Reaction: No further reactions observed other than mouth ulcers every now and then.

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
c. Oxygen Therapy
Started using a personal oxygen generator with effect from 8 March 2010 about 1 hour in the evening, 20 minutes per session. Richer oxygen does help in controlling the growth of the tumors. It also reduces fatigue.

d. Zhineng Qigong
Started practicing qigong on 11 March 2010. Attend classes five times a week from 6.30am to 8am.

Health Status
Managed to increase weight by a few hundred grams but weight is still around the lower of 68±1kgs. Most of the body pain is now minimal. Main problems are mouth ulcers and stomach gases that comes mostly in the afternoons. To improve my digestion, I have started to take brown rice porridge laced with sweet potatoes or pumpkin to give it a little more flavor. So far no problems eating it and does not cause stomach gases to build up. I also feel hungry most of the time.

Now I am beginning to feel like my old self gaining more confidence as the day passes. Since my last massage, I have been sleeping better last two days. My body also did not complain so much nor I feel tired when carrying a little weight of around 3kgs.

Verdict
Very good week.

Happy Wesak Day!

To all my Buddhist friends,

Happy Wesak Day!

Yesterday I was a little quick about the good news. By 5pm, my stomach gases started to build up and I was feeling bloated. Of my four mouth ulcers, two are healing but of the other two, one was at the left side near the molar teeth and the other was on the right side of the tongue. As a result, I am having problems chewing food! So I only ate oatmeal for dinner.

This morning, the stomach gases still have not left completely. But hopefully as the day progresses, the stomach gases will ease. I did sleep quite well last night after the massage but there was some pain on the muscles as a result of the massage. As I lie in bed browsing the net with my notebook, I noted there was some pain on my rib area because of the pillow pressing against the ribs. Anyway the pain should ease over time.

I have been eating solid food (like rice or noodles) all my life. When the stomach is not filled with such food, I feel hungry, no matter how much other food is taken. Because of my limited intake of such food, I always get this hungry feeling. Of course, sometimes I do take noodles but the limited varietry that I prepare the food, I am getting tired of it. I will visit the SBT site for some ideas.

Hope Of Better Days To Come

Thir morning I went to town to attend a meeting. I was thinking since I am feeling much better now, I should try and earn some money by doing part-time work. I also took my daughter's new 2.2kg Lenovo G460 (purchased less than 1 month ago) to the digital mall for service. Apparently the wireless netwrok is not working! It's embarrasing as the problem was related to a little switch in the bottom front of the notebook which was accidentally switched off! I did take a look at the notebook but could not find it. Anyway the service engineer also took the opportunity to replace a part for free due to manufacturing defect. I believe my body is now in much better shape as it did not complain about the weight I was carrying. It almost felt like my old self, my pre cancer days. I took a massage before I came back and my masseur could tell I lack sleep when she was massaging my back.

The pain at the rib area is at minimal. My current problems are mouth and tongue ulcers (there are 4 of them now), lack of sleep (due mainly from my waking up in the nigh at least two times for night urine) and feeling very hungry. I am taking naps where possible to catch up. Despite eating lots of food, somehow I still feel hungry. So what I am doing now is eat a little more frequent especially oats and also some fruits. There is not much I can do for the mouth ulcers but if the pain becomes unbearable, I do use a bit of oral aid.

Blue Skies

Today I was quite busy backing up some of my files from one of my desktop in between my juicing and coffee enema that I lost track of time. That PC keeps on hanging but then again, its more than 10 years old. What do you expect from an old PC. But since it still be used, I tought why not continue to use it? If it not broken, why fix it.

Well my therapy has been quite the same the last few days. Nothing significant happened. The stomach gases is now under controlled since I stopped taking stewed vegetables. The cough has stopped and the pain around the lower right rib area is also at minimal now. I find that even if I exert more force, there is minimal pain coming from my body. However, I noticed there are some back pain and I think this has to do with the way I use my tablet PC when I do my coffee enema. I place my tablet PC on one side and I think this caused my body into an awarked position resulting in strain on the back muscles. Anyway I am trying for a back massage tomorrow to help ease the pain.

Cooperative Therapy

This morning I visited the KL General Hospital with my mother. She goes for her twice yearly blood test and a month later she will see the specialist for treatment. For RM5 (RM30 if foreigner), you can get specialist treatment in Malaysia and what more can you ask? Tough the waiting time may be a little long (average 3 hrs to 4 hrs) but it's almost free. Some of my mother's drugs runs into thousand of ringgits for six months supply. As I walked past the Oncology Department (up ahead is where I parked my car), I could not help feel for the poor cancer sufferers waiting for their turn to see the doctors and receive treatment. I was there too last October 2009. The Star ran an article on how doctors are shying away to become an oncologist because it's depressing to see patients dying. It was reported that 50,000 new cancer cases are detected in Malaysia every year.

I am not here to debate Gerson Therapy is better than conventional treatment but the statistics speaks for themselves. What I hope to pass is the messages that sometimes we can adopt both conventional medicine and Gerson Therapy together, without have to exclude one for the other. I have seen so many cases of relapses where conventional medicine can no longer help after that.

I noticed that for the past week, I have not been eating my stewed vegetables. Everytime I eat it, it would bring up stomach gases so I avoid eating althogther. A couple of months ago, I had problems eating baked potatoes. I read in Dr Gerson's book that some patients during the therapy does have these kind of reaction. So what I am doing now is drink more of the Hippocrates soup and also eat some raw fruits and vegetables. Hopefully after sometime I would be able to eat normally.

Another Day

Another start of a new week. For the last week or so, not much has changed, the usual problems. Although I thought the stomach gases problem has gone away, it did not and is still coming back especially in the afternoon. It makes me feel unwell. But it is not so bad compared to previously mainly because I am able to blurp. Every blurp helps to expell the gases and makes me feel better.

Well there is still something inside the rib area that causes a little pain when the chest is expanded fully or when there is a hard cough. As a result I feel like riding in a roller coaster, at time things would be very good and yet at other times not so. The only thing left to do is to continue to focus on the therapy and wait. Wait for September 2010, for the next scan to actually see what's going on. Until then I will still have to rely on the trusted old body of mine to give me clues as to what's happening inside of me.

I have just replenished my Q10 supplies and hopefully the consumption of which would help improve my tiredness. I am also feeling sleepy at times and taking a nap certaintly helps. Yes, the key is still more rests.

Very Busy Weekend

Today I had a numbers of errands to run and hence could not post an update earlier. I was also busy with a new "toy". Bought a Acer desktop PC and need to configure it for my daughter's use. Nowdays the digital animation course really demands uptodate hardware. Not only must they be multiple processors, have a good graphic card, full HD LED monitors but the OS must also be 64bit. All my present notebooks and desktops are 32 bit machines! More dollars flying away.

Anyway, there are not much changes in terms of condition since the last few days. I have almost stopped coughing. Pain from ribs is also not that noticable but stomach gases still poses a little problem. It seems to come towards the evening but I can still managed it. I am feeling a little tired these days, not sure if this was due to the Q10 which I stopped taking as I ran out of stock.

Yesterday night I had a dream. I was in somewhere in Nepal exploring with my wife. My wife wanted me to concentrate on my therapy instead of travelling but here I was in Nepal (in my dreams of course). I was in a restaurant and was taking some kind of capati or Thali set or something like that. I thought oh no, food is not only not organic but contains oil, sugar and salt as well. Still I have to eat to get the energy. The next thing I knew I was awake. But I notidced I had a back ache. For a moment I thought even in dreams can have an impact on my pain. Maybe I should dream of something to help me heal faster!

Current weight is still around the lower of 68±1kgs. Having a little trouble eating stewed vegetables because after consuming stomach gases builds up, but I will try and eat as much as possible. The stomach gases problem does not happen every day but when it does come, I get this unwell feeling.

Coughed blood clots in the phelm has more or less stopped (I think so but I do cough when sleeping). Pain now is mainly confined to the lower right rib area but it is not giving me any difficulties because most of the time I don't feel the pain.

I feeling more hungry now and so try and eat as much as possible but at the same time not to upset the stomach.

Verdict
Overall a good week.

Tomorrow Will Be Even Better

I believe the blood clots have more or less stopped as I could not see it anymore. I am in quite a jovial mood as about 85% of my body pain has gone. Previously I have taken so many things for granted and now I really cherish the painless body much more. The only thing to watch out for now is the stomach gases that comes every now and then. If it comes, normally builds up after I drink my vegetable juices. As you know, my diet now mainly consists of soft food and juices, hence it should not be too taxing on my stomach. If I do take stewed vegetables, the chances of getting stomach gases is much higher. So now I eat a bit less of it and take my potatoes and Hippocrates soup for lunch and dinner. No problems if I take rice noodles.

I have build up a little tummy now. This is mainly from my bad habit of taking a nap immediately after my lunch but that's the only time I can find that does not interfere with the juicing timetable. If I recover from this cancer, I will know how to deal with the tummy.

Those who knows me knows I like to eat. My MBI before my cancer days shows that I am not fat but obese! Now I cannot eat any of those food anymore, you can imagine how it feels like. I have decided to remain as a vegetarian for the rest of my life. My trip to India last December 2009 convinced me that being vegan is not that bad. Of course, India has one of the best vegeterian foods in the world but I have also seen some very good vegeretian foods back home. Thinking a little too far ahead, am I?

Looking Positively Forward

I think the blood clots in the phelm is becoming lesser and lesser. I did cough early in the morning. When I woke up this morning, I did not see any blood clots in my phelm, it may have been that I have swallowed it earlier. In any case, I am coughing much lesser now. The only pain that I can still feel is the pain around my right rib area when I do some stretching, when I lie down flat on the bed or when I really take a deep breath.

Despite discomforts and pains from healing reactions, I, like others who followed the Gerson Therapy (GT) always welcome such reactions. We want more! It's an indication that things are going well. Yesterday night, JC a New Zealand visitor, cancer survivor and someone who has used GT before was kind enough to remind me that the blood clots in my phelm is how the system expels toxic from the body and reminded me to remain focus and positive. I am all positively charged!

The mouth ulcers are improving but I can tell you as soon as these batch heals, another batch will come out within a few days. So I just have to learn to deal with it for this period of time. My Homepathy doctor, Dr Rama is geeting a little exited and he has requested me to see my oncologist to review the scans when I do my next CT scan in September. This time round I will switch back to Tong Shin Hospital. While Assunta Hospital's scanner may be newer and more detailed, the most important is the report of the radiologist. When the report of radiologist is not detailed like in my last scan, you have pretty much a useless report, not to mentioned time and money wasted. Yes September 2010 is also an important month for me not only that it is my first tumor discovery anniversary but the next stage of treatment will depend on the results of the scan.

Be Grateful And Thankful

I noticed that the blood clots in the phelm is not that much this morning. My coughing is also subsiding. But when I cough, I cough continuously for a few minutes but at other time, I will not cough for hours. The pain in my back muscle that I mentioned yesterday did not repeat itself this morning. I was able to do my qigong exercises without problems. However, there is still a little pain around the right lower rib area and is only felt when I stretch that area or press my hand hard against the ribs. Otherwise I am feeling on top of the world.

Off late, I am feeling very hungry. However, I have also developed three mouth ulcers that is making me miserable. Not only it makes eating difficult and because I add potassium salts to my food, when the ulcers comes into contact with the salts, the pain just triples.

Last weekend, my opposite neighbor told me that one of her relatives is suffering from nose cancer. I did have a word with his wife over the phone(I believe they are in the late 50s or early 60s). He found out about his 3rd stage nose cancer 10 months ago but despite the chemo and surgery, he has slipped into stage 4, the doctor said he has 3 months left. The wife has resigned to his fate and on doctors advice, he takes in milk daily as he is not able to eat solid food anymore. He is getting thinner by the day. She heard about my case and wanted to give her husband a last chance. I suggested that she uses otameal or oatmilk as replacement for milk. Every hourly to feed him with apple+carrot and vegetable juices. I hope this would stabilise his weight and give him some strength.

There must have been thousands of people trying to get free air tickets from Airasia. Yesterday I tried the whole day trying to see if I can get some free tickets but after every search, the reply would be timeout. Only in the evening did I managed to get some decent results. I think this time round Airasia is a little smarter. In the past I would be able to get free tickets to and fro. But from what I seen recently, you would only get one way free and the return journey would have to be paid either at promo prices or regular prices. I would have booked a few places had it not for my sicknesses. Anyway the promo prices are still very reasonable.

Doughnut Anyone?

My coughing is much lesser now even though the problem still remains. The pain from coughing is almost gone now and so is the back pain. The pain now only comes from hard stretches. It's like having removed needles from your body and I really feel good. My appitite was good. This morning as I about to brush my teeth, I felt really hungry. However by the time I finished brushing my teeth, I felt some stomach gases build up but I still felt hungry. I quickly prepared my morning juice to drink and pack another in the themos before leaving for my qigong exercises.

Yesterday I did not for the qigong exercises as it was drizzling a bit. What used to be a simple bending exercise in the qigong routine became a problem for me this morning. My back hurts when I tried bending and I am not talking about touching your palms on the floor without bending the knees which I can do easily. This morning, the was a pull, the muscles just could not relax and there was pain on the right side. As I massage my back I noticed some tenderness and some pain. Could it be that healing reaction has now reached the primary site? I am dealing the problem with exercises which I hope will relax the muscles.

The stomach gases is not much of a problem now as I can blurp more. I am also eating back a little more and hopefully, this would be reflected in my weight this weekend. I have taken a slight change of plan when it comes to eating. I was quite regimented in my routine but now I am very flexible. For example only taking oatmeal not just during teatime but anytime. Same goes for drinking of Hippocrates soup. Basically when I am hungry, just eat which I do but mainly with fruits previously. Now I would even have solid food.

One of the things most people take for granted is the ability to sit down. For me and as I found out too for most cancer patients, they have lost quite a fair bit of muscles in their buttocks. Sitting is not easy. I used to remember in the begining I will use both my hands to support my buttocks. Although things have improved but I still find sitting for long periods of time painful. To overcome this problem, we use a doughnut like cushions to support our buttocks. My mother used a old custion and cut into shape for me. Ah..., so much better now.

I Believe

After writing yesterday's blog, I was wondering if I do have any previous experience pertaining to blood clots in my phelm. As my luck would have it, I do. In August 2006 I was rushed to KT Hospital for a near drowning incident at Redang Island. The doctors did a Xray on my lungs and discovered that it has not been damaged by sea water but found small traces of water. I was discharged the following day and in the weeks (unfortunately I could not remember for how long) following I had coughs and blood clots in my phelm, similar to what I am having now. My doctor said this is how the lungs would free itself of dead cells through the process of coughing.

However, in my case, I wish it was so simple like a parasetic infection. But it is not. These are tumors that will eventually spread (if untreated) and cause my demise. Even a few of my specialist doctors have no confidence of curing these tumors, by George there are 43 of them some even bigger that 3cm! Normally when the diease advances, I am expecting to cough blood, fresh blood that is. The pain around my chest/rib areas would intensify and I would expect to seem lumps growth. So far (touch wood) the pain in my chest/rib area is subsiding and there are no growth. The cough with blood clots only occurs in the first cough of the day and does not appear after that. I do not feel unwell, just that I have lots of white plelm. I have read another GT patient's blog and he was also coughing blood for about a year. I am encouraged by his recovery from cancer early this year and gone back to work. Anyway I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Remember about a case I talk about early this year? AN, 60 has colon cancer and he has refused to take chemo nor surgery to debulk the cancer. I introduced him to GT and the last I saw him was just before Chinese New Year. Recently through a common friend, I enquired about his health and was told that he has lost a lot of weight and has no energy. I was also told he was following a number of therapies. During the early stages of the therapy, AN would SMS to ask me if he could take this or that. Bear in mind, I am not a doctor nor a nutritionist. Obviously I told him that his first priroty would be to follow the GT closely. After a while, he did not contact me because I could not give him the confirmation that taking this or that would be OK. I know the thinking of having more therapies = better chances of success. This could be the case of too many cooks = uneffective remedy. This is because you are possibly following 20% to 30% of your intended therapy. I wanted to contact him to update him on something I found out. Unknown to me (nor is it documented in the GT book) when you have tumors in the colon, the amount of coffee enema intake should not be 1 liter (or 32 ozs) but lesser. There would be a lots of pain during coffee enema and the amount should be around 4 to 8 ozs (125ml to 250ml). The alternative is not doing coffee enema altogether is not recommended. I found this out in another GT patient's blog who has colon cancer under the supervision of a doctor from the Gerson Clinic.

Better Days To Come?

This morning when I cough, I noticed some traces of blood clots in my phelm. After a few cough, the phelm becomes whitish again. In Chinese TV dramas, a blood coughing scene is normally followed by a funeral scene. Actually I do not know what to make of it. The pain from my cough is getting less painful by the day and so are the pain around the back and rib areas. I do cough every now and then when my throat becomes itchy but there are no traces of blood throughout the day.

I am eating a bit more now but I noticed that the stomach gases still builds up towards the evening especially around dinner time. After dinner I will start to feel a little unwell. My mother (after seeing a TV program) has taught me to stroke with both my hands on the side of the belly upwards towards the middle of the chest area to help release the gases. I tried and after about a minute later, I did blurp two times. Every blurp helps. I still feel cold at night but so far I have not experienced any more fever although there are a couple of times when I feel the fever maybe building up.

I found a website hosted by an American (I think) who worked for a NGO based in the Tibetian Pleateau. During his past 7 years of stay, he has travelled through Tibet and surrounding areas and wrote about his journeys (http://www.landofsnows.com). It's by far the most complete that I ever seen written by a semi-profesional. He also gave some recommendations and if I do recover from this diease I will definitely spend a portion of my time travelling to these areas. It's best to go as early as possible before the places become corrupted by commercialism and worst by earthquake as it already happened in Yushu.

Schedule for next scan is in 1 September 2010.

d. Zhineng Qigong
Started practicing qigong on 11 March 2010. Attend classes five times a week from 6.30am to 8am.

Health Status
Current weight is still around 68+kgs. Just started to revert back to normal diet, so not eating that much but will increase in quantity over time. The stomach gases problem is still there, not so dominant but when it comes, it can cause me to feel unwell as well.

Coughed blood clots in the phelm and Dr Rama has asked me to monitor for about a week to see the development. The blood clots are mainly found in the morning coughs phelm but sometimes I don't see it because if I cough in bed, then I would not be able to see it. Though I cough throughout the day, its mainly white plelm. The pain is now mainly on the lower right rib area which comes about during a cough or when I stretch the rib area. The pain from the cough now is much lesser now.

I got fever for three days during the early part of the week. Sometimes I feel a little feverish and and cold but it did not developed further.

Verdict
Sometimes I feel a little lethargic especially when stomach gases are present. I also feel hungry but could not eat much because the stomach feels bloated. Still I would say a good week.

What Ever Will Be Will Be

This morning, I was awaken by my need to cough at around 5.30am. I continued to stay in bed until about 6am. When I did cough after I woke up, I did not notice any blood clots in the phelm. Notwithstanding the latest development, my pain around my rib area actually is less painful. So are the coughs and back pain. Previously, I would feel more pain throughout the day. Pain that arise from movements of my body. For example even when I turn the steering wheel when I am driving, lifting something heavy or when I twist my body causes pain. Now these type of pain are much subdued, so I am actually feeling quite good.

My family members are a little arlarmed at my latest development but actually there is nothing to worry about. Have faith in the therapy that I am doing and these developments are part and parcel of the therapy. If you read some other blogs of patients doing Gerson, the pain they experience are even more intense and dramatic than mine. I have been very active in my qigong exercises every morning. While some of my fellow student mates are panting for breath when doing the repetitive exercises (like wall squatting), I breath easy.

However, the stomach gases problem are still lingering in the background. I do get the gases in the afternoon but it is much milder when compared previously. I am trying to eat back normally to gain back some weight. I have reduced my number of juices from 12 to 11 but instead drink more (300ml instead of 250ml) each time to compensate. The one hour saved is to allow me to rest more.

Come What May

Yesterday night, I did not experience another fever though I did feel cold. As usual, I just wear sufficient clothing before going to bed. However, I felt a little feverish when I woke up this morning. I was also coughing and this morning, there were more blood clots in the phelm. Although I still cough througout the day, there were no traced of blood in the phelm. So far, it's confined to the morning cough only.

I am not sure if this is a good sign or not. But if my breathing becomes more difficult, then it is definitely a bad sign. I have reported this development to Dr Rama and is awaiting his reply. Whatever it is, I am not going to let that make me sulk or worry. I will continue to live as it should be. Even if the inevitable comes, it's OK because I have not only done what I could, I have done better that most in the same shoes as me.

Yesterday I emailed a summary of the Gerson Therapy to a lady in her 50s. She has just contacted lung cancer. It is not surprising that cancer incidence is higher among Chinese than other races due to the rich food that Chinese people eat. Have food will travel. I am one of those who will drive 200km just to try somethig new to eat. Perhaps that explains my present position. Well there is nothing wrong with having good food but when we are unable to balance our diet, that's where the trouble is. Remember this, you spend years to get an education, more years to build a career and still many many more years to build a family. Some people will spend weeks or months to plan their holidays. Why can't you spend a few days in a week to build your health? What you build all these years become dust when you have no health. Are you prioritizing correctly?

Winds Of Change?

This fever thingy continued for a third day yesterday. Around 10pm shortly after my night enema, I felt cold and by 10.30pm the fever started. As usual I stayed in bed under my comforter but yesterday I was aching all over. I fell asleep but woke up around 1+am for my night urine. The fever has subsided but still there. I was also coughing a bit more yesterday.

This morning I woke up coughing again. There was much more white phelm. Something I dreaded to happen, happened. I noticed small traces of blood clots in the phelm. There are two interpretations from this observation. The positive intepretation is that the blood clot could be dead tumor cells that needs to be expelled from the lungs. The negative intrepretation is that the tumor has spread to more parts of the lungs. One other thing I observed is that my cough is less painful around the lower rib area. My wife suggested the rib pain is part of the healing process and coughing is a the process for clearing the lungs.

I also decided to go for my qigong exercises and I think it was a good decision. Not only I felt much better as the exercised progressed, I was also more energetic and my body felt very good. I was sweating profusely.

Since Dr Rama changed the Homeopathy medication, my stomach gases problem has been reduced. I would now blurp more easily and hence hopefully the stomach gases problem is a thing of the past. I have started eating back my normal diet of potatoes and stewed vegetables without any problems.

Day 243 and Counting

Today marks the 243rd day of my tumor discovery. As I moved into the 9th month, I must admit I am now into a different phase of my therapy. This phase which started in March 2010 is much more intense than the earlier 6 six months. For March and April 2010 I was plagued with strong stomach gases and back pain problems. These problems have now subsided. For May 2010 I seems to be getting more fever than before. The pain is now concentrated on the lower right rib area of the chest.

Yesterday I had two fevers. The first was around 4.30pm after I completed my afternoon enema. I am not sure if the fever was caused by being cought in the rain when I came back from marketing. After drinking the juices, I went to bed to rest. I felt better by 6.30pm. After my night enema and around 11pm, the night fever came. I quickly ate my oatmeal supper and slipped under the comforter for some warmth. I fell asleep around midnight and work up around 1+am for my night urine. The fever has subsided a bit by then. In between I still have this cough though the pain caused by the cough around the abdomen area is not so painful now.

Compared to the speed of recovery of some of the cancer patients which was featured in the Healing Cancer From The Inside Out documentary, mine is pale in comparison. I take solace in that everyone is different and as such the healing time will also different. Hey, I am still alive and that means I can continue to change my destiny.

This year I took my parents out for dinner at a nearby restaurant for Mothers' Day. Previous years, I would take my parents to far out places like Kuala Selangor, Carey Island or Tanjung Karang to have seafood by the seaside. Ironically I am not a seafood lover. I only used Mothers' Day as an excuse. Before my cancer days, we would go there or other far out areas (not for seafood) least once a month as I do not believe you have to wait for once a year to take your parents out. This started way back in 1997 when I bought my first MPV. Some people at that time did not understand why I bought an MPV. We have since visited every state in Peninsula Malaysia and every major town to sample their food as well, all 7 of us.

Determined To Feel Better

I must be very tired in Singapore. I left my handphone at my Sister In Law's apartment and now arranging to have the sim card shipped back because my next trip is two months away.

Yesterday was a very tiring day for me. I started feeling feverish around 8pm and by 11pm, I was really feeling cold. The fever went on till early morning about 3am and the fever broke. Only then I could manage to sleep in peace. I was shivering even under the thick comforter.

This morning I woke up feeling much better but was very tired. I decided to skip qigong class to sleep a bit more. My body feels a little painful this morning (but not as bad as before) and not sure if this is from the fever or from carrying the supplements when I was in Singapore. My shoulders are still a little sore. Hence I am feeling a little Monday blues.

Today also marks the end of 8 months since the tumor discovery. Although you may say time files, for me that it is not the case. Every day as I plod along the uncertain road, the day seems to passed much slower. My journey is still a long way but as the ancient Chinese proverb goes, The Longest Journey Beings With The First Step.

Health Status @ 8 May 2010

I was very tired during this round of the trip and could not do much except to sleep. Not only I am feeling a little feverish as I update this blog, I am actually shivering. I am holding a hot water mug to keep myself warm. For your information, my body temperature is a little higher than normal since I started the therapy but today was the first time I sense that I am having a fever although my wife said I did not have. But I feel cold, very cold!
New information are presented in italics.

Health Status
Current weight is still around 68+kgs. I will be reverting to my normal diet from tomorrow and I will attempt to gain back 2kg. The stomach gases have abated and so have the pain but they are still there. The tiredness is most likely to caused by lack of sleep on my part but I am trying to have more sleep by rearranging my activities.

Dr Rama said I am showing good progress and he would love to see my next scan in September 2010 to confirm the actual progress. He modified the therapy a little to help me control the stomach gases effect.

The fever is part of the Gerson healing reaction, so I am not too worried about it. In fact I have beein feeling a little warm for over 7 months now, although none like today.

Verdict
A very cold night for me even at room temperature. Taking a little hot oatmeal to increase body temperature. A little weak but otherwise I am OK.

Another Friday Blues?

This morning, my Internet line was down for a few hours and when the line came back online, it was also very slow. I have refused to upgrade my line speed to 2 mbps and pay more as I believe the speed would not be better than my current 1 mbps. What I hate most was the capped on the amount of data that can be downloaded.

The stomach gases problem seems to occurs at alternate days. Yesterday was a good day for me, so I would expect to have stomach gas problems today. I will also time my cator oil enema on the same day in the hope that the castor oil can help purge some of the gases in the stomach. I have suspended eating stewed vegetables since Tuesday as I really had problems with my digestion after consuming it. So its back to noodles and salads, at least for another week or so.

The pain in my lower right rib area is slightly better now. Lying flat on the bed is most painful, so if I lie my head on top of a pillow, the pain becomes minimal. I also try not to sleep on either sides to reduce pressure on the ribs area. The pain is not on the ribs itself but inside of the ribs. Sitting or standing somehow will not cause any pain.

I will be travelling to Singapore tomorrow morning to meet with Dr. Rama. I will report to him my problems and see what he has to say. I will post my health status after seeing him, so it will be late in the evening.

Have A Little Faith

To me, two of the most important conditions that will determine my fate is my ability to eat and my ability to sleep. Almost anything can be outsourced if you cannot do it yourself but you cannot have someone eat and sleep for you. Earlier my stomach gases caused me eat much lesser and hence I lost weight in the process. This gas problem is still ingering though not as bad as before. Now I am plagued with the sleep problem which came about because of the pain on my lower rib area. For the last two days I have not been sleeping well. When I lie down flat or on the either side, the pressure from my weight would caused pain aound the lower rib area. Sitting and standing does not cause any problems. As a result my sleep is disturbed and I wake up not refreshed. Besides the therapies, rests is also very important.

When you experience pain, your mind will start wondering if something went wrong. The weak mind is very good at making things up and the next thing you know, you want to start writing your own obituary, just in case. You will also wonder if you will wake up the next day and maybe should start writing the last message, just in case. I was browsing the Net when I came across this book have a little faith: a true story by Mitch Albom. I only read the synopsis of the book and it got me thinking. I have been through this before. All it demand is just a little faith in oneself and the therapies.

Another Way Of Cooking Vegetables

Yesterday I had fruit salads for lunch and breakfast and so the stomach gases also stayed away. But I felt so hungry after the fruit salads so much so I had to make noodles in between to keep the hunger pangs away. I am not complaining because it's been a while since I ever felt so hungry. That leaves me a problem about what to eat for my lunch and dinner? Is there something wrong with the way the vegetables are cooked or could it be the vegetables is just not suitable anymore or could it be just that I am fedup with stewed vegetables i.e. it is a physiological matter?

Yesterday evening, after my wife gave me a shoulder massage, I could not sleep all night. There was some lingering pain on my left shoulder blade. I could not lie on right side or left side for long. Even lying facing up became a problem. I just could not wait for daybreak. At least in sitting or standing position, I don't feel any pain. However, after my morning qigong, somehow the pain eased a bit. Of course, no more massages for the time being.

I have no clue if the pain is a healing reaction or the diease getting a better of me. From some blogs that I read, it may appear to be healing reaction. One thing I know is that so far, my body is still in good shape, notwithstanding the pain, I do feel good and move about with ease. So long the body is still in positive territory, this to me is of course good news.

VERY BEAUTIFUL THOUGHT

NEVER CRY FOR ANY RELATION IN LIFE

BECAUSE FOR THE ONE WHOM YOU CRY

DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR TEARS

AND THE ONE WHO DESERVES

WILL NEVER LET YOU CRY.................

TREAT EVERYONE WITH POLITENESS

EVEN THOSE WHO ARE RUDE TO YOU,

NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT NICE

BUT BECAUSE YOU ARE NICE.......................

NEVER SEARCH YOUR HAPPINESS IN OTHERS

WHICH WILL MAKE YOU FEEL ALONE,

RATHER SEARCH IT IN YOURSELF

YOU WILL FEEL HAPPY

EVEN IF YOU ARE LEFT ALONE......................

ALWAYS HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE IN LIFE.

THERE IS SOMETHING POSITIVE IN EVERY PERSON.

EVEN A STOPPED WATCH IS RIGHT

TWICE A DAY...................................

HAPPINESS ALWAYS LOOKS SMALL

WHEN WE HOLD IT IN OUR HANDS.

BUT WHEN WE LEARN TO SHARE IT,

WE REALIZE HOW BIG AND PRECIOUS IT IS!.................

Getting Tired of Stewed Vegetables?

Yesterday I reverted back to my normal diet of potatoes and stewed vegetables. The lunch was one of the most difficult to date. By the time I finished the stewed vegetables, my stomach gases started and before long, my stomach feels bloated. I felt sick and lay in bed for a while. In the evening, I just ate the potatoes but only managed to eat about 10% of the stewed vegetables. I am wondering why is this so? To ease my hunger I just ate oat meal for most of the time.

Today, after a night's sleep, the stomach is faring better and I thought I will not have stewed vegetables but have some fruit salads instead for lunch and dinner. I hope this is not long term while I figure out how to improve my stomach's digestive system.

I had some pain around the shoulder area, possibly due to the back massage by my wife for the last few days. Even light massage is painful for me nowdays. The cough is slightly better. The pain around the lower right rib area is giving me some problems during sleeping. I have to adjust my back position in order not to strain the rib area. Otherwise, it would give me some pain. Even that little tongue ulcer pain woke me up last night. Despite all the discomforts, I am still refraining from taking any other medication. I would like it to heal naturally which perhaps takes much longer.

Drifting Moods

As my therapy for the past eight months is coming to a close, my body's reaction for the last two months of therapy has been very different from the first 6 months. The first 6 months was relatively pain and trouble free but the last two months has plagued with pain from the back, now the ribs and of course not forgetting the stomach gases. Having pain is of course not good, what's more if the pain in lingering all day long.

Ever since I adopted the attitude of just living, that is continue to do what I think is my best chance of survival, I have managed to contain my up and down emotions better. Today I will end with lyrics translated from a song. You can listen at Youtube of Samuel Hui's original Cantonese version of the
Drifters Song:

Its not easy to distinguish with truth and falsehood
Many humans are deceitful at heart
How many of them would share prosperity with you?
To equally share even the waterdrops from the rim of the roof?

(I was) an ignorant frog inside a well
Looking in vain for prestige and fame
Self-conceited and short-sighted
I never expect my elegant house would one day become dilapidated werck

We'll eventually gain whatever as fate would have it
We better not strive too hard for something not destined for us
We'll meet tunders and storms
But we don't have to be scared

Happiest are those who have a fair and clear conscience
And who perform Good deeds whenever possible

We'll eventually gain whatever as fate would have it
We better not strive too hard for something not destined for us

Human beings are like sand in the sea
But we don't have to be scared
You can see the evening glow over the sky
It'll soon disappear like mist; so do fame and fortune

Peaceful Weekend

Nothing significant happened the last two days. Still the same old problems, a little stomach gases problem now and then and pain in the lower rib area (which mainly is felt when I am lying down). Some of the pain in the back area is self induced during the coffee enema time where I sometimes would surf the net using my Compaq tablet PC. I think the angle of my body was out of position. I have since stopped and only listen to music only when doing enemas.

I have been eating rice noodles, paus (dumplings) and pasta for the past week. I will post the receipe for making pau later once we get it right. The present problem is that we could not get the rye dough to rise. As a result, the skin is a little tough.

To all the people still working, Happy Labour Day!

Health Status
Current weight is around 68+kgs, after losing about 1.5kg over 6 weeks because of the stomach gases. The stomach gases problem has reduced significantly. It does comes once in a while and makes eating and drinking of juices a problem. Had two days of free mouth ulcers but this morning, another ulcer appeared on the tongue. Nothing to be alarmed about. Back pain has reduced and the pain around the lower rib of the chest area occurs mostly when I am in the sleeping position. Did not take any form of medication for the coughing that appears every now and then. Need to get a little more sleep.

Verdict
A little painful now and then. I feel good but physical energy level is still not up to mark.
