Train Your Mind - Meditation

Yesterday morning I went to a bedding fair with the intention of buying another mattress to replace my current coconut husk mattress which has served me rather well until now. I wanted something softer so that I would not get back pain when I get up in the morning. What we saw was all the beds on display have a top layer that is very soft and then the mattress on the bottom. This top over seems suitable for me without having to dispose of my present mattress. Fortunately they have only the top portion for sale and even after discount it costs RM599 because it is made of pure natural latex. It's really soft and yesterday night I did have a good rest and my back was less painful when I got up in the morning. For the whole of last week, I was a little stress up because of tomorrow's scan due to my positive expectation on the outcome.

I also read with sadness on the suicide of former Growing Pains star, Andrew Koenig. I always though that of all the disease, cancer is the worst but now I think mental illness is the worst. After reading the introduction on the German New Medicine (http://learninggnm.com/), I believe most of our problems stem from the mind or the brain. Some of the concepts expounded are very similar to Homeopathy. Basically tumors do not just exist by chance in the body. There is a purpose and I think I may have to find the reason why my tumor grew. This will help me to heal completely. I already have some clues and will read more. I will write about it once I am quite certain of it.

Cancer Is Not A Death Sentence

For a cancer patient like me, I am living in a time-bomb compartment wherein the time-bomb is set to explode unless I can defuse it on time. The therapies (whether conventional or alternative) are the things one can do to defuse the time-bomb. Selecting the wrong therapy, will mean ...

I have two contrasting cases to share. The first is from JC and she is from Dunedin, New Zealand. I am really encouraged and motivated by her email. This is her story.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer back in Jan 2005. The lab test result came back to say that my type of cancer was undifferentiated, meaning aggressive and of course the doc recommended chemo, not just the normal treatment but more aggressive one with additional drugs. After some consideration, I decided not to do the chemo but turn to alternative treatments and after 5 years, I am still alive. So just want to encourage you to fight on. I always tell anyone who comes down with cancer that being diagnosed with cancer is NOT A DEATH SENTENCE but just being made more aware that you are put on a time management program and how well and long your life will be depends on how well you manage yourself and your time....afterall, eventually we all have to leave this earth some time.

I did Gerson (for 3 years) together with consumption of other herbs and supplements. Back then, I did not know where to get stuff like lugol, pig's liver enzymes, so I only follow as closely as I could but managed only 10 juices and 2-3 coffee enemas a day as I had to drink the herbal drinks also. During my 2nd year, I discovered this website http://learninggnm.com/ which literally turn my perspective and approach to disease and healing 180 degree. It is not a very easy approach to understand until you read it a few times but when you do, you find out that the real healer is in yourself. Regimens and nutritions help only to improve our health but for the cure, we need to confront the cause or the contributing factors. When we do that, our body has the ability to heal itself. So, I just wish to share the info with you and hope that it will help you as much as it has changed my life.

The second is nearer home in Selangor and I got to know from S, through a common friend. Depending on how you approach the problem, you will get different outcome. Her mother (which I will called mama S) is 72 years old and this is mama S's story.

Mama S was diagnosed as having breast cancer in late 2008. She underwent mastectomy and subsequently underwent 6 courses of chemo. Apparently she did not feel any of the side effects of the chemo. She is a vegan and eats normal vegetarian food (including oil, sugar, salt, soya bean and the like). Apparently she went to a health farm in Malacca to learn more about juicing and detoxing. When she returned home, she continue to eat normal vegetarian food but did not do any detox. Although she did do juicing, she was not regularly into it and perhaps due to inappropriate preparation of the vegetables, her vegetable juices contains more water. After trying all these, she noticed lumps reappearing on the mastectomized breast. She last faith in the juicing therapy. Meanwhile she consulted her doctor to find out the next stage of treatment. What the doctor told S was surprising. Apparently the doctor said the chemo is not going to prolong mama S's life. Yet the doctor recommended that mama S goes through another round of chemo! Meanwhile some of S's friends in direct selling began to approach her to buy the full range of supplements because one person got cured of cancer using the supplements. S approached me as she wanted to know more about the Gerson therapy and at the same time wanted me to meet her mom as I am a living specimen of the therapy.

Health Status @ 27 February 2010

New information are presented in italics.

Problem
Tumor mass of size of about 14cm on the right kidney and 21 and 23 over nodes all over my left and right lungs respectively with one up to 3cm in size on both lungs. Possibly also spread to the liver.

First detected on 11 September 2009 through CT Scan. Subsequent CT scan on 24 October 2009 showed a slight improvement and possibly no growth.

Prognosis
Consulted four urologist (one in Singapore and three in Malaysia) and two oncologist (one in Malaysia and one in Singapore). Both oncologist suggested removal of right kidney. Singapore urologist also suggested removal of kidney. The three urologist do not recommend surgery or chemotherapy. The last urologist consulted said most of his patients died within six months of surgery while two on the drug Sutent is not responding. All agree that is no cure for the moment.

My urologist said my cancer is at stage 4 and did not recommend me to take any treatment. It is also my own choice not to take conventional treatment after considering all the facts of the case.

Schedule for next scan is in 1 March 2010.

Treatment Undertaking
a. Modified Gerson Therapy
a1. Coffee Enema
Initially, four times a day for four weeks, every four hours apart. Subsequently three times a day in the morning, afternoon and evening for 15 minutes.

Commence castor oil enema from 23 January 2010.

a2. Nutrition Diet
All fruits and vegetables mentioned are organic.
i. Juicing - 12 fruit and vegetables juices a day beginning around 7am and ending 7pm. First juice is either 40% ripe papaya (with skin) or green apple, then alternating between carrot+apple and vegetables (mainly lettuce) and ending with carrot juice. Juice from 7.45am to 12.45pm and from 2pm to 7pm, every hourly.
2. Diet - No oil, no sugar and no salt on all cooking. For breakfast and supper, mainly oats with some raisins, sometimes a little Manuka honey is added. For lunch and dinner, vegetables such as Siew Pak Choy, Lettuce, lady's fingers, cauliflower, broccoli and spinach are mainly steamed or boiled. K-salt is added for flavoring. A teaspoon of flaxseed oil is added when serving (but not during cooking). Somali organic brown rice is consumed and sometime potatoes are also used. ABC or Hippocrates soup are also prepared every other day for daily consumption.
3. Supplements - K-salt, B12, niacin, lugol solution, pancreatin, pepsin and Q10.
4. Others - Rye bread, papaya, guavas, oranges and bananas are consumed at regular intervals.

b. Homeopathy Medicine
Consulting Doctor: DR AU Ramakrishnan MBBS,PhD, Chennai, India (http://www.drramakrishnan.com/)
Local Consultant: Vishuddi Lee
Treatment Started: 6 November 2009.
Consulting: Once every two months in Singapore. Next appointment 6 March 2010.
Medication Given : Phosphorus and Carsinosin (alternating between weekly), morning and evening tablet.
Reaction: No further reactions observed other than mouth ulcers every now and then.

c. Urine Therapy
Drink the first urine of the day. Suspended for the time being.

Health Status
Current weight is around 69.0kgs. Lost 1kg over the Chinese New Year week possibly due to taking in less juices and eating less as well because of the traveling. Blood test taken on 24 February showed normal blood count and liver function. Blood pressure is also normal. Getting anxious as next scan is just around the corner.

Verdict
Having some backaches around the shoulder blade area possibly due to sleeping position problem. Experience a little cough but is recovering. Need to eat more to gain back 1kg.

Johns Hopkins University On Cancer

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY ...

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc., and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells.

To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water--best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor.

Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Self Inflicted Pain

Going for the follow-up massage was a wrong decision. Although I did get some relief on my left shoulder during the massage, the after effect of the massage was that my whole shoulder, back and neck is now in pain. These are the areas that the masseur concentrated on. So I will experience the pain for the next few days.

Last few days I developed some cough. I am not sure if it came from the Mandarin oranges or the Taiwanese melons that I ate during the Chinese New Year holidays. Anyway it's not that bad. I hope it goes away in a day or two.

Other than the above, I am feeling great, looking forward to the Monday scan. This will put to rests some of my worries and fears and also give me a snapshot of my current health. As I am already into six months of therapy, this will prove to be an important milestone. The results of my blood test is out. The highlights are blood count is normal, liver GGT is high but not worrying as the other enzymes AST and ALT are normal. Blood in urine is expected.

Gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) levels may be used to determine the cause of an elevated alkaline phosphatase (ALP). The alanine aminotransferase (ALT) blood test is typically used to detect liver injury. It is often ordered in conjunction with aspartate aminotransferase (AST) or as part of a liver panel to screen for and/or help diagnose liver disease. AST and ALT are considered to be two of the most important tests to detect liver injury, although ALT is more specific than AST. Sometimes AST is compared directly to ALT and an AST/ALT ratio is calculated. This ratio may be used to distinguish between different causes of liver damage.

A Friend In Need

Yesterday morning, left shoulder blade was really painful. I quickly bottled two apple+carrot juices and left for the reflexology center immediately after lunch. I took a one hour pressure message rather than oil massage. Pressure massage is more painful since the masseur uses her two thumbs to press against strategic points in the body. It's painful when pressure is applied but immediate relief is obtained as the pressure is released. The pain became bearable toward early evening. I will do a follow up massage today but will take 1.5hrs instead at the recommendation of the masseur.

Last night, I had to sleep in a different position to prevent hurting my left shoulder blade further. I took sometime to adjust but did managed to get some sleep. I am thinking of changing my mattress to something softer and my wife has suggested I use an air bed instead. I do have an air bed and will give it a try before deciding if I should buy another. Getting good rests is an important part of the therapy.

I am rather happy that I am also able to help some people who are directly affected or their love ones are affected by cancer. I am not a doctor and in no position to give recommendation. However, I am able to share experience and information to these people who are in dire need to understand this therapy better. In doing so, it reinforces my knowledge and also give me a sense of well being.

A Hopeful Day

This morning with full of enthusiasm, I went to see my family doctor. I took my blood test and also got a recommendation from him to enable me to go for the CT scan at Assunta Hospital on 1 March 2010. My blood pressure was good. I am very hopeful and at the same time afraid. I guess I just have to manage my emotions the next few days until the scan.

I have been sleeping on my left side everyday and as a result, there was some pain just below the left shoulder blade and was quite severe this morning. If my memories are correct, this has to do with sleeping on the same place for too long. I always get this problem previously. The pain only comes when you exert the shoulder blade. I think I will go for a head, shoulder and back massage later the day to manage the pain.

After talking to some of my friends yesterday, I realised of late a number of people that are affected with this disease are old folks (70 years and above). Some of them has completed conventional treatment and still some thinking because of old age, just did not want take further treatment. I believe age should not be a factor although it might be a little difficult to do the Gerson Therapy but it should be manageable if there is help available.

A friend also told me and I also know of a number of people just did not believe in living without "good" food when they are afflicted with cancer. What's the point of living if you cannot eat well, they would say. Now, what is deemed good food? The food we take may be good for the taste bud but bad for health while some food (like those I am taking) is bad for the taste bud good for the body. So which food is good?

Another Day

Yesterday towards the late afternoon I had some short needle like pain around the right side of the abdomen and subsided towards the evening. It's intermittent in nature. I had this type of pain once I think a month or so ago. According to Gerson's book there can be some pain around the abdomen after four months on the therapy but I am not sure if this pain is expected or not. Otherwise I am quite well. My weight has also moved back to the 70+kg levels.

This is the last week of the Chinese New Year. Except for visiting my mother-in-law, brother and sister's house I did not do any other visiting. I laid low this year in view of my condition. But I promise same time next year I can come and visit all of you.

No Pain No Gain

My current exercise is only walking. Ever since I started to do stretching and sit-up exercise after getting up in the morning, my backache pain has reduced. I hope this condition will continue to improve with the exercises. One of the problem I have yet to overcome is my buttocks. Sometimes, I find sitting on non padded seats still uncomfortable.

Anyway, lately I have been experiencing some pain on my right feet. Years ago, I slipped in the bathroom and my right feet got pushed against the bathroom wall resulting in a concussion. Previously because my severe neck and shoulder pain were more pronounced, I did not noticed the pain on my feet. Now with the neck and shoulder pain gone, the pain on my right feet suddenly came into focus. My wife have been massaging my feet every now and then and only seems to bring temporary relief. I have been thinking if I should go for acupuncture for some relief and recovery.

Of late my eldest daughter asked me why I showed sudden interest in classical music. I have always been a fan of classical music since I was young and in fact have a collection of more than 50 original CDs on various major composers. I have been using spa music for my coffee enema and I though it's time I use some classical music to sooth the ears. I have bought a NAS storage server to manage 2TB of storage space. I will copy and move all my music to the storage server and then use my notebook, desktop or RMVB media player to access the music from there. It's more convenient than having to access direct from the CDs and I can access from anywhere in my house since it is fully networked.

Post CNY Blues

Of late I have been having back aches. These aches are the ones you will get when you sleep in the same position for a long time or when you do not have enough space in your bed to roll and turn. I have been sleeping on coconut husk bed for over 20 years now. They are firm and comfortable but even since I lost some fat and muscles, the bed seems a little to hard for me. So I bought another single foam matress to put on top. It seems to bring some temporary relief but now I get these aches. It's worst at the time I get up and goes away as the day progresses. I am thinking of doing stretching exercise to help improve and maybe go for another pressure massage but am worried about the post massage pain. Sigh...

Just days before Chinese New Year (CNY), my Compaq notebook went kaputt and now a few days after CNY my 10 year old Elba Fridge also kaputt! I wanted to buy a Panasonic Inverter fridge as a replacement but ended up buying Toshiba Hyper Plasma fridge instead. Apparently, it has the technology to maintain the freshness of the vegetables which is important for me. It's bigger and also cheaper than the Panasonic but what a time to fail on me.

The travelling during CNY to visit my in-laws in Ipoh and brother in Malacca has disrupted my juicing a little. As a result I drank less and also ate a little less. Although I did prepared juices to take along, but it was not sufficient. The result was that I lost 0.5kgs in weight. I will now work hard to gain the weight back.

Moderate Celebration

Time really flies. Just like that, we are into day 4 of the Chinese New Year. I took it real easy in this year's celebration.

Today's traffic was heavy but moving. We took about 4 hours including a lunch stop from Ipoh to Subang Jaya. I learned a lesson this time round. I bought too much vegetables and about 35% of it became rotton or turned yellow after two days without refrigeration. Anyway I hope same time next year, I wouldn't need to buy so much as I would have recovered by then (after 18 months on the therapy).

For those of you still in your hometown, please drive slowly and eat moderately. This is normally a time of food indulgence. I hope to meet you soon.

Six Months and Counting

I took a break from blogging yesterday but I was on full swing with the Gerson Therapy (GT). No rest even though I was going to my mother-in-law's place in Ipoh as it is customary to visit on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. The trip took 3 hours, one of the shortest time I had compared to previous years.

I have entered the six month of the GT and will be doing a CT scan in early March 2010 to access the actual situation. It has not been easy but so far it is rewarding. My completion look really good and so is my health. My energy levels are slowly improving.

I managed to get more supplements like pancreatin, pepsin and even ox bile power through my sister in law in Singapore. I believe the shop, Nature's Glory stock most of the supplements required for the GT.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

GONG XI FA CAI!

Greetings! Today, being the first first day of Chinese New Year (CNY), it is customary to wish all of you, whether Chinese or not, Prosperity All Year Round!

I started my day earlier since I have some activities to attend at my mother's place. I have completed two coffee enemas, and one more to go in the afternoon. I am not doing the night enema. I have completed 5 juices this morning, had breakfast with my parents and my sisters. There is no rest even for CNY. This may seems a small price to pay considering in September 2009 I was not even sure if I would survive to CNY.

The only drawback is that some of my vegies are turning yellow as I do not have a large enough fridge to keep all of them. There are no problems for the carrot and apples though.

Tomorrow, I will be travelling to my mother-in-law's house as I have always done before in the past 25 years. This time round I will have to bring some gears like the juicer and my coffee enema kits, vegies and all the rest of the things I require. But I am looking forward to meet them.

It's wonderful as I am not only alive and kicking, I am also in very good health. What more could I ask for as a CNY wish?

g. Add the greens and let it simmer for 1 minute
h. Turn off heat and pour into bowl for serving.

That's it. Very simple and easy to make. I find it quite tasty. You can try other variations such as using apple and pumpkin instead of papaya. Do let me have your feedback.

Blue Skies And Everything Nice

Although yesterday was castor oil enema day, I felt very good the whole day. I was determined not to let castor oil enema day keep me from feeling gloomy. Except for a short spell during lunch, everything was good. I quickly ate lunch and take raw fruits and subsequently drank the Hipocrates soup. After lunch, I had bowel movement and after that everything was normal, no stomach discomfort. I think it is important to start of the day thinking positive despite past castor oil enema blues.

I have settled down to a comfortable routine now. In between I do run errands like going to the banks, visiting hypermarkets, shopping, meeting friends for lunch, taking my mom to hospital for her half yearly check-up and at the end of every school day, pick up my daughter from school in the evening. The secret to be able to do all these is to plan your activities for the day. Of course the other important factor is that your health must also be in good shape. Well I am happy to report I am in good shape. I feel like the cancer has left me.

So, now I try and spend more time on catching up on sleep, thinking more ways of making food and also watching a lot more movies. I have taken a photograph of the tomato soup noodles and I will publish the recipe in a separate post. Although this dish is meant for people with cancer, I believe those who wants to detox can also take this dish.

Food Glorious Food

Yesterday's blog "Doing Gerson Therapy" was specially written for someone who is about to start or just started the Gerson Therapy (GT). Sometimes when I slack even a bit, it will be reflected in my weight. For example, I do some errands or when I am out meeting friends get caught in traffic jams and lost time and subsequently could not catch up on the juicing. If the regime is followed closely, you will know because your body will react accordingly. You feel good. Even though I also do the Homeopathy therapy, I still do GT as if it is the only therapy I am doing. Most of my days are good because I really make an effort to make it happen. Yes you, please do the same even though you do TCM as well.

I am getting a little anxious about my health. As I will be doing another scan this March, I am anxious to know the progress of my therapy. In May 2009, months before my tumor discovery, I booked a free & easy trip to Surabaya in March 2010 for my whole family. We plan to visit some Hindu temples and also climb two mountains, Mount Bromo and Mount Ijen. So this trip will depend on the results on the scan. Because of this, I have not book any hotels and any other reservations.

I feel good these days, like I have no health problems. Except for the castor oil enema that gives me stomach discomfort, I have no other problems. I been eating rather well. I have been spending more time thinking how to improve on my food options. Besides rye bread, I am also working on the tomato noodle soup and I think I found a good combination and will publish the recipe soon. Yesterday while scouting at the organic area in Carefour, I found Country Farm's Organic Green Tea Noodle that contains no sodium. It is made from organic Unbleached Flour and Green Tea. Now I can mix (20:80) some of the stick flour noodle with the rice noodles.

Doing Gerson Therapy

I have said a number of times that it is not easy to do the Gerson Therapy (GT). This is not to discourage but to remind the person intending to do it, it's going to be a long and challenging journey. If you are doing it alone, be prepared to even have more bumpy ride, a challenge of your life.

As a word of caution, if you have cancer and before you decide to do GT as an alternative treatment, please ensure that you have discussed with your doctors (a minimum of two opinions) what your treatment options are. It is important that your family members knows why you take this therapy. Along the way you will have lots of people and friends telling you this and that. They all meant well. When you have cancer, you would definitely want to try all forms of cure and possibly at the same time. Some therapies can be done simultaneously but some cannot. Unfortunately not many is able to tell which is compatible with which. But one thing is certain, if you try a little of this and that, you may end up having nothing. So it is better to decide on one and then stick to it.

Coming back to GT. On paper, GT looks easy to follow and covers three areas:
Nutrition Diet
A minimum of 13 juices a day every hour (apple, carrots, apple+carrot and vegetables). Hipocrates soup for lunch and dinner. Bakes potatoes and stewed vegetables for lunch and dinner. Oat meal for breakfast, teatime and supper. Salt, sugar and oil free. All vegetables and fruits are organic. You may use flaxseed oil.
Detox
Alternating between coffee enema and castor oil enema (only if you have not done chemotherapy) starting with 5 times daily, 4 hourly apart. Castor oil is done only once and replaces the coffee enema. Only use distilled water and organic coffee.

Discontinue to use normal toothpaste. Use organic toothpaste which can be obtained at any organic shop.
Supplements
Potassium salt (100gm to be mixed with 1 liter of distilled water) and used in your food and juices. Lugol solution to be used only in the apple+carrot juices but not vegetable juices. Niacin, pepsin, pancreatin, Q10, B12 and B17 to take at meal times. Pepsin and B17 is not available in Malaysia. Thyroid injections is also not available.

Expecting Immediate Results
It is normal to expect some form of results immediately. This is not a miracle remedy that cures immediately and will take time to show its results. Your first month will possibly with lots of ups and down. Don't break or you will easily give up. Follow as closely as possible and the results come after the second and third month. You should be stabilised by the forth month.

Warning
If you deviate too much, too often or cannot follow or think if can be modified, you do so at your own risk. Don't treat cancer lightly even if you have good results initially. Show cancer with respect and you should be able to beat it.

Important
You must read Dr Gerson's A Cancer Therapy or Charlotte's The Gerson Therapy book many times. It contains instructions, explanations and other important information. This is your life book.

Castor Oil Enema Blues

Everytime when I do castor oil enema, my stomach would complain. Castor oil is really oily and coupled with the organic coffee, the stomach churns. Today lunch was difficult and I only managed to finish half of the vegies. I had to eat the potatoes if not I would feel hungry. To ease the "pain" of eating, I had some fruits and raw turnip to help out. After lunch, I tried sleeping but could not sleep. You just feel like vomitting. By 3pm, I was feeling hungry and also had to start the castor oil enema. I managed to find 100% organic lecithin (contains a little bit of sodium in natural form) to add to the coffee enema, castor oil and soap lather. After the coffee enema, the discomfort eased a bit. I quickly prepared the 4pm apple+carrot juice and thereafter ate the oat meal. I felt slightly better after that. The discomfort continued to after dinner. I would take peppermint tea after the night enema to ease the discomfort.

As Chinese New Year (CNY) is just a few days away, I am now busy arranging with my oranic suppliers for supplying of vegetables, carrot and apples for my consumption during (3 days) and post CNY period (another 3 days). You see, the lorries would stop deliveries a few days before and after CNY so I had to buy in advance my supplies. Otherwise I would not be able to juice. So far, the prices of the vegies have not gone up except for the apples. My supplier said they would get fresh supplies and the price of the apples would come down. My only problem is that my fridge is not big enough. So what I am doing is to pay for the goods first (and pack them separately) but only take delivery on the third day of CNY. That way I can make use of their big refrigerators. I will keep enough supplies for myself only for the first 3 days of CNY.

Cancer Awareness

Apparently 4 February was World Cancer Day. Still its a good reminder to those who are not suffering from big C to take a step back and look after your health once in a while. According to the Singapore Oncologist statistics, your chances of getting cancer increases with age! The older you are, the more likely you will get cancer.

Chinese New Year is around the corner and most Chinese will be feasting away, meat and all. The key is moderation and to watch your diet during this time. In my earlier days, I would say yeah, once a year, eat first and then exercise later. So easy to say but difficult to do and years went by just like that. Now I have the big C and guess what? No such foods for the rest of my life. Sigh...

This morning I went to the JPN to have my NRIC changed. The chip on my IC is not working and come May we will be using it to buy petrol. So I better get it replaced. The queue was small and it was all over in 10 minutes. Collection is 3 weeks later and costs RM10 to replace. In the afternoon I had a good nap. I finished my lunch at 1.30pm and quickly went to bed. Got up at 2pm, drank my apple+carrot juice which I prepared earlier and went back to sleep. Got up at 2.45pm, although tired but it did recharged my body. I will have more of such sleep.

I Love To Eat

My weight betrays me in that I am one who eats much more than I should. When was I young, I would wait eagerly for weekends to come when my father would take me out to eat at the coffee shops or in the market. Now I still love to eat simple little food, things you would find say in night or morning markets. However, under my present condition, food choices is very limited. For weekends, it 99% tomato soup with brown rice noodles. It would be rye bread if I am travelling to Singapore and back.

Obviously I have been thinking how to make the food taste a little better. For today, I tried two things. The first was to make tomato puree. I have not been successful as the method I used was wrong. I found the answer when a did a search at Google and so I am now making the puree with 20 tomatoes. This is for the sauce for the spaghetti or brown rice noodles. This sauce is very useful that I can take along when travelling. The second is the tomatos soup. So far, I have been using tomatoes, onions, celery and some greens. A couple of days ago, I added two table spoons of apple cider. Today, I added a slice of 60% ripe papaya to the soup. The result was was that it added some sweetness as well as body to the soup. Lunch was most satisfying today. For dinner, I will have brown rice noodles with tomato puree.

Last week I wanted to make the rye bread but postponed it to this week. The result is good as you can see from the photograph. My wife made it.
However, I have used pre-mixed Rob's organic rye flour. I would want to make another but this time pre-mixing it on my own possibly during the Chinese New Year. It taste really good when you toast it a little.

Health Status @ 6 February 2010

New information are presented in italics.

Problem
Tumor mass of size of about 13cm on the right kidney and 21 and 23 over nodes all over my left and right lungs respectively with one up to 3cm in size on both lungs.

The three uronogist do not recommend surgery or chemotherapy. The last urologist consulted said most of his patients died within six months of surgery while two on the experimental drug Sutent is not responding. All agree that is no cure for the moment.

My urologist said my cancer is at stage 4 and did not recomment me to take any treatment. It is also my own choice not to take conventional treatment after considering all the facts of the case.

Schedule for next scan is in March 2010.

Black Friday

The day did not start well. I only managed to get my empty cooking gas cylinder replaced around 2pm and immediately started boiling coffee for the coffee enema. By 4pm, it was raining heavily. As I was browsing with my 2 year old Compaq notebook, the lightning stuck and the notebook went kaputt! So I decided to watch TV instead. As I was looking for the TV remote control, I misstepped and twiseted my left leg. There is now a small swell though it is not that bad. What a day!

The only consolation was that the juicing went well. The supplier had returned the juicer. The problem was caused by an oil seal leak in the motor compartment. It costs RM47 to repair but they have decided to waive it this round as this is not covered under warranty. One of the changes I noted was that the amount to juice I can extract now is slightly more than before and the pulp is much drier. This has to do with the outlet valve which I believe the supplier has tweaked it a bit. I need to use less vegetables to get the same amount of juices. Still I will proceed to buy the juice press from USA as I believe I will get more juices and better nutrients and get my ROI back within a year.

I have been thinking whether to proceed with the CT scan on 1 March. I have decided to proceed with the scan as it has been six months since the discovery of the tumor. MY Homeopathy doctor wated to know my actual progress so that he can prescribe the next stage of medication. At the same time, I would also like to know if my sensing of the body all this while is correct or not and also allow myself to make corrections to the therapy, if required based on the results. This time round, I will perform my scan at Assunta Hospital instead of Tong Shin Hospital. This is because the machine there is newer and I get higher resolution images and at the same time the costs is cheaper than at Tong Shin.

Meanwhile I am looking forward to celebrate Chinese New Year. This year, we will outsource much of the cooking to the professionals and only do some very traditional Hakka dishes at home. My youngest daughter has volunteered to make spring rolls. For me, I will assist in making simple decorations using ang pow packets for hanging around the house.

Feeling Lousy

For the past three months, I been having problems with mouth and tongue ulcers. They keep coming back. Just when the ulcers on the bottom lips healed, a new one would appear at the upper lips. My Homeopathy doctor says this is a transient reaction and just let it heal naturally. It's painful especially now that I developed a mouth and tongue ulcers. So I have been buying more fruits like starfruits, Taiwanese melon and chiku to eat.

Yesterday after running around in the morning meeting with my ex-colleagues, I was a bit tired towards the night and was feeling nausea for sometime. After taking my night medicine and supper, I went to bed. This morning I was awaken by the rain early in the morning but I woke up feeling a little better. But as the day progresses, the nausea feeling came back. So I will do the castor oil enema tomorrow instead and spend more time resting today. I hope after doing the coffee enema, my condition would improve. But I will have to wait for the gas supplier to come and change the gas tank. So my enemas will be late today.

I believe these are healing reactions. I have been on the lugol solution for three weeks now and I have just reduced the strength from 3 drops to 1 drop a time, six times a day in my carrot+apple juices. When I was working, Fridays used to be my favourate day of the week because I get to rest in the weekends. Now, it makes no difference which day it is because everyday is new and a challenge. So I am cheering myself up by listening to Chinese New Year Songs.

If I Can Do Gerson Therapy So Can You

Today has been a hectic day for me. I planned to meet my ex-colleagues at about 11am and thereafter go lunch with them. So I had to prepare my lunch besides the juices to take along. As I was cooking the tomatoes, I ran out of cooking gas! I have just completed cooking the brown rice noodles and stored them away in a container and without the tomatoes, how am I going to eat the noodles? Luckily I had an induction cooker and used that to continue cooking. These things happens when you are rushing for time.

The roads were really congested as I travelled along LDP expressway. There are just too many cars on the road. By the time I reached Damansarsa Heights, it was already 11.30am running late and worst of all, I could not find parking. Finally I decided as the rest of the other cars to park along the roads leading to the private residences at the risk of getting a parking summon.

My ex-colleagues were glad to see me and all said I looked better now than my pre-cancer days. Well maybe I have less stress now than previously. Of course the main reason is that the Gerson Therapy is working. After doing catching with some of the other colleagues, one colleague related to me about her cousin brother who is suffering from diabities. Apparently the doctors could not help him anymore. He is very down, given up hope on living. His condition is made worst in that he has lost sight on one of his eyes. I took the opportunity to relate to her about the story of how Dr Max Gerson cured Albert Schweitzer, Nobel Prize winner, of diabities when he was 70 years old. I suggested that she take a look at the Gerson Therapy since her cousin is only 53 years old. There is still an opportunity and should not give up on life just like that, no matter what the doctors says. If I can do Gerson Therapy, so can he (phase borrowed from "Wok With Yan" cooking series).

Stress And You

Some of you will know this is my second blog actually. I first blog (mettaliving.blogspot.com) in 2006 when I went to Saudi Arabia to work and wanted to share what it is like working there. However, when I found out how sensitive is it to write information about Saudi Arabia, I did not continue. Hence, I only had two posts.

In Homeopathy they recognised that sometimes drastic changes in your life can be a factor of getting cancer. My initial months in Saudi Arabia was very difficult. Perhaps it was during this period that my present problem developed. This is because before I left for Saudi, I had done a full body check-up (no kidney scan done however) at Tong Shin Hospital for my employment visa and the x-ray shows my lungs was clear.

So, you should pay attention to your job stress and note changes in your body resistence. It can cost you your life in one way or another. You may not admit, your job is your world. Why do you think people get "mid life crisis"?

If you are on Gerson Therapy, you need to buy some of the supplements and getting some of them in Malaysia is difficult. You can however, get them at Singapore (thanks to KC for the tip):

Off Day

I took an unexpected break yesterday. My telephone and Internet line was cut by TM due to non-payment all because my bank upgraded my credit card. I got it sorted out this morning and everything is now back to normal.

Yesterday was my castor oil enema day. But so far on these days, I do not feel so well due to the accumulation of gases in the stomach that seems to build up as the day progresses. It's get very bad around dinner time. I really had a tough time eating dinner and even after my night coffee enema, I still felt a little unwell. However, the problem went away around 11pm when I took my oat meal supper. In between I took peppermint tea but it did not help very much.

My biggest problem now is not getting enough sleep. One of the main disadvantage of doing Gerson on my own is that I have no help. So I have to plan to take my naps. For example, I would take the 3pm vegetable juice and at the same time prepare the apple+carrot juice and put in Thermos. After drinking the vegetable juice, I would immediately go to bed and take a nap. When my alarm rings at 4pm, I would get up quickly drink the apple+carrot juice and continue my sleep to 4.45pm. These naps helps. I would then continue with the 5pm juice and then coffee enema.

My juicing machine is making noise and my supplier came yesterday to take it back for repairs. At the same time, they loaned me a similar machine so that I can continue to juice. This service is great considering buying a spare machine would easily set you back a few thousand. It would have been difficult if I did not have a juicer. I would recommend them to you should you want to buy a juicer. I found them here http://www.juicing-for-health.com/green-power-juicer.html and have no financial interest nor do I get any commission should you buy from them. I am just a satisfied customer.

Something You Should Know

There are two video resources on Gerson Therapy (GT) that I found very interesting. You must see it. It affects your health and you will learn about some food enhancers that is damaging to your health, especially if you like MGS, you better stop using it.

One of them is the video called "Dying To Have Known", produced by an independent film maker Steven Kroshel and can be found here "http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7357629140536485998 ". This documentary was awarded Honorable Mention in the Feature-Length Documentary Category 2006 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. This video try to look for evidence to tell if the GT actually works or not.

There is something you should know about dental fillings and also also fluoride and how it affects your health that the Dental Association does not tell you. You can watch the video called "The Beautiful Truth" here "http://www.novamov.com/video/4a8d646c53371">. So the next time you do your dental filling, ask your dentist what is being used as the filler. This video also has other information and what types of food is good and bad for you.
