Sabah Snake Grass Update

The information that I am about to share may seems different from what you have read. Reader's discretion is advised.

According to the wife of my holistic doctor in Ipoh, Sabah Snake Grass (SSG) is a very cooling herb. She specialises in local herbs and have been using SSG for treatment of cancer patients for the past decade, long before the current SSG craze. She said the current usage of SSG, especially by cancer patients is not right. While she don't deny some cancer patients may have recovered or benefited from the SSG use, many of those who suffered from severe side effects of SSG were not published. My holistic doctor then said a few days ago, he took in a patient who consumed 300 SSG leaves each time. She became so weak and was admitted to the hospital.

My holistic doctor then said to me that my present problems (which started in May 2011) was due to my consumption of too much SSG (I took 160 leaves + 1 apple twice a day for one month). When I was taking SSG, the side effects I was having includes restless legs, weak knees, back pain, insomnia and coughing profusely. A SSG grower then suggested that I take in some ginger tea while another suggested that I take sleeping pills to counteract the insomnia. But unknown to me, my body has severely weakened in the process. My present pain on my thighs and knees are a result of SSG. I also know of a cancer patient that continued to take SSG in massive quantities despite experiencing more than 10 side effects including insomnia.

This is not to say SSG is of no use. On the contrary, it is very beneficial but if taken in excessive quantities, then it may do more harm to the body than good. It appears that the current thinking is that it is better to suffer the side effects than dying of cancer. Then I would like to ask, what is the difference between SSG and chemotherapy? Both have effects on the tumors but leave the body severely weakened.

The recommended dosage for SSG should not be more than 30 leaves, added with a slice of apple before blending. After blending, it is advisable to warm the SSG blend before drinking.

  4. Hi, why is it necessary to warm the SSG blend? Doesn't it kill all the nutrients when warm? My mum is a stage 4 pancreatic cancer patient and she has just started SSG for a week. Would apprec your advice.

  5. I've heard about the grass and a friend of mine has been taking it for many years. It was very effective from him. He's been having constant supply from a lady. If you need, you may call Angela @ 010 515 3186 or email her at ssgsupply@gmail.com. Apparently she can provide weekly supply and delivered to door step.

  6. Dear Anonymous,

I just found out your comment and hence the later reply.

In my opinion, SSG is not considered a vegetable even though it is a leave of a plant. It is not the nutrients (like vitamins) that we are after but the plant contains a chemical the is cytotoxic to the cancer cells. That's why you can take it warm like TCM herbs.

SSG is very cooling and some side effects are backache, insomnia, restless legs, coughing and a few others. Taking it warm and with ginger are to lessen the impact of backaches and excess phlegm.

  7. If the supply of SSG is scare(like in kl selling at RM50 per kg but still unable get the supply frequently), can place in rice wine when you manage to source it occasionally .and add dalion grass(aka poo kong yin) to it with propotion 5ssg:1 d.Danlion kill pain(anasthetic value) and help in cleaning up bowel by excreating big size feaces,TCM ancient book also recorded danlion soften tumour, Therefore a good combination with SSG.The wine selected should be of good quality with at least 38% alcohol e.g branch like yee leng chan(mei hua logo ,benisson .Each time drink 1 table spoon with a glass of water can effectively hit the tumour through the blood stream.

  8. My cancer was diagnosed a year ago, that time no one heard of this cure... wish didn't have to go thru' chemo and radio. I'm planting this herb and taking it blended with apple, once a week abt 20 leaves. Am I doing this right ? How do you take it for kidney problems ?

  9. Since no one has given you any advice and presume that you are suffering cancer relating to the kidney which is a major life supporting organ and absolutely need right advice/treatment.To further enhance your knowledge beside SSG I would like to introduce you to an old sinseh in Penang who really know Cancer Treatment. He is Uncle Soon (cont no.04-6463851) and opens his clinic at Tmn Alor Vista ,Lebuh Relau,Penang.Few years back before SSG came to the limelight I have traveled extensively throughout Malaysia to seek alternative treatment after recurrence of tumor following surgery. From my experience you can't find good sinsehs for the illness particularly in P.J area who are out to make exorbitant sum of money. To quote one of my many experiences I had to foot more than RM600 being payment for 2 weeks herbal medicine(6 packets of concoction herb and some tiny packets of herbal powder)The sinseh use the well known sores formula "SING FONG WUD MIEN" and adding some of the well known cancer herbs and energy boosting herbs. After first consumption of herbal concoction the tumor turned bigger and harden.During that time ,the herbal medicine worth did not even worth more than RM120 .Another area never believe in any homeopathy treatment for which drops of crystal clear lotion are consumed based on the mechanism of vibration together with apricot seeds. The price charged run in thousands Ringgit of upfront payment generally quoted by healer mostly claimed to be professor. When I visited Uncle Soon after a friend in Klang introduced,I was astonished when he revealed that any tumor growth cannot afford to be punctured as once punctured the YING WOULD MEET THE YANG so it spreads to other area.He also advised that cancer patient preferably stay away from consuming any water living creatures (e.g fish (whether toxic/ non-toxic type)shell sea food .etc) as cancer is a type of ying sickness.Roughly you have to bring Rm200 plus for one week medicine supply(inclusive his famous effective herbal powder ).To check the price first if find it right can pay him a visit.Goodluck.

  10. Hi CT,
I am trying SSG mixtures on my mother who is suffering from advance stage lung cancer. Should I blend the SSG together with apple and ginger?
Should I add in one or two ice cubes?

  13. Hi Anonymous @ Feb 1, 8.57PM,

I have reports that SSG works for some people and not for others. This is dependent on the condition of the patient.

The only way to find out if it is beneficial is to try consuming SSG in small dosages for a start. If the patient responds well, then continue with higher dosages. Otherwise, please stop immediately.

He also have some complication if his fever gets that high. He will get siezure.

Shld we stop his medication and continue with SSG or shld we stop consuming SSG totally.

  15. Hi Anonymous @ Mar 1, 2012 06:57 AM

I am not an expert on SSG but I can tell you what I know. For cancer patients, SSG is only useful when the patient has at least a few months to live. This is because the herb needs time to work and the body also needs time to heal.

I think in your brother's case, I would suggest that you stop SSG for the time being and continue his medication to stabilise his condition first. This is because SSG needs time to work and it is important to maintain your brother's health so that his body condition does not deteriorate.

High fever can damage the brain and other organs. I would also suggest that you take him to consult the same doctor to treat the high fever as well quickly as possible.

SSG is not well documented. Most of it is by word of mouth. Under such circumstances, it is important you track what happen to your brother's body before and after consumption of SSG. Some people say when there are reaction, that is because the SSG is working. I don't know about that. My view has always been that if the person condition becomes worst, it's best to stop taking SSG.

    Hope this helps.

  16. Dear Anonymous @ Feb 1, 2012 08:57 PM

SSG has been reported (by word of mouth) that it can help cancer patients. I am not sure which type of cancer had better success with SSG. Some cancers has reported success while others not.

In any case SSG should be treated as a supplementary treatment. Meaning it's not enough just to rely on SSG alone.

  17. My brother was detected to have testicular cancer and he have a surgery to remove recently. However doctor have ask use to perform chemotheraphy due to the cancer have spread. There's another tumor in his abdomen part. I get to know SSG today. I would want to try out SSG for my brother as my bro is still young and i do not want him to go thru the pain on chemo. Maybe i want to try SSG for 3 months, if the tumor can get smaller or gone, we will continue. So i would like to ask how much SSG should i provide to him for a start? Thanks in advance.

    1. Like I said to the other readers, SSG is not a guaranteed cure for cancer. Some patients have responded and others has not. I am not sure if after taking SSG, the tumor will shrink. Also herbal medicine takes a longer time to work.

But since you want to try you may want to start at a lower quantity of say 50 leaves + a green apple. Monitor his situation to see if he has adverse reactions. If he has adverse reaction, then you should stop.

I would also suggest that you talk to your brother's doctor on the possibility of taking Metronomic Chemotherapy instead. This drug has very little side effects. I would not recommend that SSG be the only therapy.

  18. Hello CT Chang!

Understand some food needed to be avoided while taking SSG. One of it is steriod, how about those going thru chemo and also incl steriod. Does it mean that when that patient is going thru chemo which incl steriod should stop taking SSG during chemo. Thanks

    ReplyDelete

    1. There are no documented cases that I know of people taking chemo, steroid and SSG together.

Normally, patients would start SSG after the chemo is completed. I do not know what is the reaction of the patient if he/she take all of these together.

As a precaution, I would advise against taking SSG with chemo.
