Farewell My MIL

It's with great sadness I wish to announce the passing away of my Mother In Law (MIL) yesterday afternoon after a short illness. She was 84. As a Buddhist, she has made prior arrangements for her own funeral and she has opted sea burial as her final resting place. Buddhist funerals have an atmosphere of joyful remembrance as well as sadness.

When you are born, you cry, and the world rejoices. When you die, you rejoice, and the world cries.
Tibetan Buddhist saying

Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely.
Buddha

She will be fondly remembered and missed by her brothers, sisters, daughters, granddaughters, relatives, friends and me.

In Buddhist tradition, may she attain a good rebirth.

  2. Chang,

Condolences to your family. There is a old scottish saying that goes, "To live in hearts we leave behind, is not to die."

My prayers go out to you.

I recall at a eulogy of a friend these comforting words:

Death is not the greatest loss in one's life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.

    Stay strong and keep going!
